Soft Kisses, Bloody Lips
Posted on October 24th, 2001 by Eden Sitara

Her naturally red tinted lips still felt tingly as her thin, delicate fingers brushed over them. It had been hours since she had felt Dante Smith’s lips pressed against hers, their bodies rubbing against each other in a restrained passion. Eden wasn’t one to be open about intimacy with anyone, not since her last relationship with Corey Madison.

Ah, Corey. Eden tried to think fondly on their relationship, though it was difficult to really see it as anything but volatile. She had always promised herself that she wouldn’t go through a relationship like she had watched her parents go through.

“You spend too much time with her, Eden. I thought we were supposed to be in a relationship together? Hmm? Why do you do this? You know I hate to be mad.”

Eden glanced up from her studies, seeing Corey staring down at her, with seething eyes. She exhaled a breath and looked back down at the text she had been studying, trying to keep her cool about the situation, “What are you talking about, Corey? Amy? Is this about Amy? She’s my best friend, and you know that.”

Corey laughed. His usual laughing to hide the fact he was about scream laugh, “Best friends? You are MORE than that .. c’mon. You can’t still tell me you aren’t fooling around with her behind my back?”

“Now, you know that isn’t true. Our romantic relationship is over .. we are simply best friends and sisters. It’s been over for a while, Corey.”

He slammed his hand down on the desk she was sitting at, causing her PADDs to jump off the surface a bit. Eden blinked and looked up at him, “I don’t want you to see her anymore .. okay? It’s as simple as that, Eden.”

Eden laughed, getting up from her chair and walking over to the replicator, getting herself an iced tea with lemon and honey, “Gimme a break, Corey. You can’t tell who I can see and who I cannot. That’s just ridiculous.”

Corey became enraged, storming over to her and smacking the tea from her hand. The glass flew into the wall shattering. Eden blinked again. Corey looked back at her, his body heaving from his heavy, angry breaths, “You call me ridiculous one more time .. and next time it will be you flying against that wall .. get it?”

Eden just started at him, feeling the same fears she felt when her parents would fight in front of her sister and herself. But she was headstrong, not like her mother was. Eden pushed past him, “You won’t ever threaten me like that ever again .. YOU get it?”

He grabbed her arm, pulling her back to him, so that she was pressed up against his body. He squeezed the small of her arm and grunted, “You think you are so great .. don’t you? Oh, your Daddy is in Starfleet and you are going to be just like him. You always thought you were better than me .. you don’t know how to love ..you just know how to push people down!” He captured her lips roughly, kissing her violently. Eden struggled to pull away, but couldn’t due to his sheer size. The kiss escalated to biting, and her lips bled. He finally released her, pushing her down to the floor, “I’ll be back later.” He simply wiped his mouth and walked out, leaving Eden sitting there, wondering why she always put up with it.

Her thin, delicate fingers touched her lips, which still tingled with pain and blood from Corey’s ‘kiss’.

It amazed Eden what a difference there was between Dante and Corey. She knew that Amy, her best friend, would approve of Dante. Amy had this way of knowing that people had good hearts. And she had warned Eden about Corey and his temper and his way of dealing with people. All of them, Eden, Amy and Corey had been friends in a group. They all knew. But Eden couldn’t help who she fell in love with, could she?

Though Eden loved the kisses she shared with this Dante Smith, the idea of opening herself up to him was scary. And she was cynical to ever trust a man again. It had been less than a year or so since the end of the pairing of Eden and Corey. Could she really be part of a twosome again?

Eden would have to see.
