Personal Log, Stardate 11502.11

I do not know where to begin. My parents have been displeased with my career and life choices for some time now, and I believe that my return to Starfleet only aggravated their displeasure. I have received six messages from them since my posting aboard the Atlantis requesting that I return the courtesy and send them a message. It seems they are under the impression that I am in any way obligated to explain my decisions to them. It is… mildly irritating that they constantly send these messages at a rate of once per every two months when a singular message should have served the purpose. I do not feel it necessary to return their messages with anything, although they believe the opposite. My siblings have accepted my choice to join and rejoin Starfleet, so what logical reason do they have to ignore my standing as an adult. As difficult as it may be for them to accept, I am fully capable of making my own life choices.

Their most recent message simply stated that I contact them at my earliest convenience. I was tempted to reply that my earliest convenience would be never, but they most likely would have failed to see the meaning behind it. Although, Elena would indeed have been rather amused, she is the one who "taught" me that phrase.

For as long as my parents continue to interfere in my life, I will have little choice but to ignore them and dismiss their ideas. I can only have some hope that these thoughts do not distract me from my duties, as I seem to have an unfortunate tendency to dwell on unpleasant topics. I must work to correct that.

For the time being, I must return to my duties and monitor the probe and the planet for any further updates or changes.

Computer, end recording.

(First off, I really want to apologize for my lack of… well, anything last night. I was trying to install some printer software and do like six other things and my computer sort of spazzed and decided to run 11 updates. And no, I still have no further clue as to what the KSP thingy is. Just a rough guess :-) )
