Settling In
Posted on November 8th, 2014 by T'Lira

Walking into her new room for the first time, T’Lira noticed that there were already bags on one of the beds and a loud voice coming from the bathroom, along with two other voices. It appeared that her roommates were already settled in.

"Hey, I think I heard the door open, Sascha. Might wanna go check it out, case it’s an intruder or somethin’," one of the voices said to another.

T’Lira was setting her bags down on the remaining bed when a rather arrogant looking young human woman appeared. She had long straight blonde hair and blue eyes and was rather plain-looking.

"It’s just my roommate, guys!" she called out to the others.

An Andorian chen and a Bolian teenager walked in, carrying on their conversation.

T’Lira bowed her head for a split second, respectfully.

"Greetings. I am Cadet T’Lira," she introduced herself. None of the three looked very interested.

The human girl replied first, "I’m Sascha Grethen."

The Andorian was Arevityla ch’Lyseki and the Bolian introduced herself simply as Mera.

They returned to their conversation rather quickly, leaving T’Lira to unpack peacefully.

After that, she went down to the Academy child care facilities and retrieved Taril. The little boy giggled as they took a tram back to her dorm room. The play pen should have arrived by now, or so she hoped. Taril was in need of a nap.

Her suitemates had obviously returned to their own room and Sascha was lying on her bed reading something on a PADD.

The younger woman looked up when T’Lira walked in with Taril and her eyes narrowed.

"What is that doing in here?" she hissed. Clearly she was a xenophobe then…

"This is my son, Taril. He lives with me."

Sascha scoffed, "Get knocked up by a Romulan, did you?"

"You are mistaken. Taril is my adopted son. His birth parents died when Romulus was destroyed."

The human didn’t reply, just turned away from T’Lira and Taril.

The rest of the evening passed rather quickly, as Taril needed a lot of calming down tonight. A rather eventful day, indeed.

Turning her alarm on, she went to bed and braced herself for her first day of classes.

Nice one! I’m enjoying the background story. What’s an Andorian chen though?
