It was a rather busy day on the Atlantis and that was probably a good thing.
Despite their pretenses to the otherwise, Vulcans did have emotions. They simply hid them better than most other species. Unfortunately for T’Lira, she had chosen not to become a Kolinahr master and that appeared to be working against her today.
She had received another message from her parents, just a short time after the first. They had asked about her current activities and that made it quite clear to her that they were now aware of her return to Starfleet and were very displeased with her choices. They also inquired about Taril, which only served to mildly irritate T’Lira. They had absolutely no right to ask about a child that they could "care less" about. The only reason they acknowledged his existence was because she had all but forced them to include him in the family registries after she adopted him.
Stifling what would have been a less than appropriate sigh, she turned her mind away from her parents and made a mental note to contact them when this mission was over to… discuss with them the reality that she was a grown woman and fully capable of making her own choices.
But besides that, T’Lira wondered about the crew of the Atlantis. They were very welcoming to all and were very capable in their duties. That relieved her quite a bit, as she was unsure of what to expect. Life on the starbase had been filled with inadequate crewmen and inept officers who could hardly file a report correctly, let alone perform their duties adequately. As she had been warned, frontier starbases were poor choices of service for someone who had an illogical… craving for adventure.
But never mind that. This crew was nothing like the crew of Starbase 217 nor would they ever be. It was… good to be with a crew whom she could learn from. It had been tiresome reliving her days as a student teacher aboard the starbase.
The PADD next to her chirped again, this time with a text message from Lieutenant Wright, asking if she was available for re-tasking.
Typing out an affirmative, she cast her mind away from a very complicated family situation and her personal curiosities and set her mind fully into her work, fully intending to perform to the standards she had long since expected from herself.

Nice insight into her thoughts at the time there!
