Re: CMO Lieutenant Jorvan Tav

With little going on in Sickbay, the medical console on the Bridge was a much better vantage point to see all that was going on. Sure, Jorvan could access this information from his desk, but this was still much better. He was where the action was taking place and where the decisions were being made.

Jorvan missed being on the bridge from his days in Science. Truth be told, though, Lieutenant Wright was, by far, outperforming his work at the same post, so he was certainly not disappointed to see her in the role.

When Doctor Carre had left unexpectedly, the Admiral had asked Jorvan to take over. It was an easy decision, since Tav had had a lifetime as a doctor. With that lifetime as a doctor, he had decided to minor in medicine, since he could pretty much pass the classes in his sleep. He had entered Science for something a bit different, but had jumped at the chance to be the Chief Medical Officer.

For the first several months in his post, Tav had spent the majority of his time in Sickbay. When Sickbay was busy, it was a great place to be. Without patients to take care of, things got quiet there quickly. You could only recalibrate the tricorders so many times. There were always experiments to run, but as the chief, Tav was supposed to let his staff handle the things they could and only jump in when needed. Any nurse could recalibrate a tricorder… or most children, for that matter.

So Jorvan had decided to head back to the bridge. He had arrived just in time to watch the Telthis level off where they were going to try to attach new balloons to keep it afloat. Now, Tav couldn’t wait to see them attach the balloons by reverting to twenty-second century technology and lobbing the balloons at the station using magnetic grapplers. Successful or not, there was no doubt it would be interesting.

Jorvan turned around a moment to check on the status in Sickbay. He must have done that a thousand times since he had come to the bridge just a few hours ago, and like the last time, the time before that and the first time he had checked, there was nothing new in Sickbay.

Returning his attention to the viewscreen, Tav listened and watched as the mission to attach the new balloons began.
