Issac Asmiov.
From her studies, T’Lira had figured out that he was a rather famous Earth author who had written much in the topic of this… science fiction, as Ensign Ilairh had explained. How could science be fictional? Anyway, after asking an old acquaintance from the Academy, she now was reading one of his more popular stories on and off when she had time. It was illogical to do so while she was working, but as her roommate had once termed it, she had “the heart of a scientist”, whatever that meant. She found it mildly pleasing to bend the rules for once. All of this was being done while on duty, which was not technically permitted by any means. However, she could not read more than two pages, even with her fast reading pace. There was too much to do and this was far too critical of a mission to slack off, if that was the correct term.
Even while programming the grapplers, her mind still wandered back to her son. He had all but begged to come aboard the Atlantis one time, just to visit. She decided to appease him until she could find a stable assignment by allowing him a visit the next time the Atlantis had a relatively calm shore leave.
Perhaps she should consider… no, that just wouldn’t do.
T’Lira shook her head minutely and continued on her work, banishing all distracting thoughts to her subconsious for the time being. There was a station to save and little time to do so. As a random thought, she mentally quoted something an old human friend from Vulcan had always said as something of a joke.
