(21:21:21) VAdmBlackthorne: :: in the ready room, with some of his stuff even back in place ::
(21:21:54) XO_Capt_TKirr: :: sits just to the right of center, studiously reading up on the last month ::
(21:21:54) CSO_LCdr_Wright: :: at Ops as per usual, perusing the hourly operations report ::
(21:22:03) CTO_Maj_Wolfe: :: stands at TAC, monitoring Slipstream Flight Shield Geometry, because it would be difficult for anything not in Slipstream to get anything in Slipstream, so the most dangerous thing is their shields. And planets. Wolfe continues monitoring ::
(21:23:35) NAV_Capt_Harper: :: readjusts the seat from where Suzuki messed with it ::
(21:24:16) CSO_LCdr_Wright: :: looks over at Kate messing with the seat and attempts to suppress a smile ::
(21:25:56) NAV_Capt_Harper: :: fixes the seat, then fixes the equalizer that feeds the music to her ever-so-tiny earbuds ::
(21:26:34) CSO_LCdr_Wright: :: has to work even harder at suppressing the smile, watching Kate fiddle to get things just right ::
(21:28:30) NAV_Capt_Harper: :: then goes looking for something and sees that her Tetris game is gone! ::
(21:28:44) MED_Dr_Tav: :: is getting a lot of people in from some party in the holodeck. Apparently, things got a bit out of hand when SOMEONE programmed Klingons invading Risa after the Bridge officers left. ::
(21:29:18) NAV_Capt_Harper: :: grumbles and goes to the Starfleet App Store to reinstall it ::
(21:29:19) ENG_Lt_Ilaihr: ::Sits quietly at his console, pondering what the next few moves shall be, and in turn the machinations of their unseen foes. Which pieces are being moved into play and where?::
(21:30:18) CSO_LCdr_Wright: :: pulls her gaze away from whatever Kate is doing and sents a one sentence summary of the hourly Ops report to T'Kirr, which basically says "all our shit be nominal" but more formally :;
(21:30:56) CEO_LtQuinn: :: Steps off the turbolift onto the bridge with a quick nod to anyone he happens to make eye contact with, and finds a place to stand off to the side. :: Ian: Admiral. Once we're not seeing the ship through a dangerously contorted subspace corridor, I was wondering if I could have a word. Before we start making to disembark over to the wolf den.
(21:32:00) XO_Capt_TKirr: :: notes Wright's message and returns to reading her other logs without any outward sign ::
(21:32:32) XO_Capt_TKirr: :: stops reading reports and regards Quinn with all due respect ::
(21:33:20) CEO_LtQuinn: :: And that's the greeting that goes through his head as he rings Ian's door chime. Also, he returns the gesture to T'Kirr. :: Captain. Hope it hasn't been too much of an adjustment, settling back in.
(21:33:48) VAdmBlackthorne: Door: Come in.
(21:35:47) NAV_Capt_Harper: :: takes a few to pull her hair back into its old ponytail, having lost the commanding updo along with her command ::
(21:36:44) CSO_LCdr_Wright: :: looks around at her console for something to occupy herself for the next 50 minutes until the next hourly Ops report, starts crunching through some data she always seems to have handy ::
(21:37:33) XO_Capt_TKirr: :: watches Quinn enter the ready room before returning to her logs ::
(21:39:38) CEO_LtQuinn: :: Steps inside, waiting until the door closes behind him before addressing the once and future CO. :: Sir. As I was just telling Captain T'Kirr, welcome back.
(21:40:17) VAdmBlackthorne: :: nods with a smile to Quinn: CEO: Glad to be here, that's for sure.
(21:44:08) CEO_LtQuinn: CO: Good to have you back. It took some doing...admittedly, I was at the periphery for a lot of it, but things definitely got interesting there at the end.
(21:45:15) CEO_LtQuinn: :: Leaves off a moment, allowing the lingering irritation at the manner of their departure from Vinland to pass. :: CO: Anyway! I was wondering if you had a moment to talk a little shop, before we get to the den of ill repute.
(21:45:43) VAdmBlackthorne: CEO: The most interesting is yet to come, I fear. And yes, what's on your mind?
(21:47:02) SCI_Lt_TLira: :: has been grabbing a quick meal in the lounge before heading to duty this entire time because people have to eat at some point ::
(21:49:08) CEO_LtQuinn: CO: What's to come, actually. Specifically, where we're going. I know Starfleet has officially reinstated you two, but would I be correct in assuming that we're planning to steer clear of starbases for the time being?
(21:50:14) VAdmBlackthorne: CEO: Indeed. We'll need to operate on our own for a bit, without a chance for refurbishment. I imagine that the full refit helps there, at least.
(21:51:37) NAV_Capt_Harper: :: checks in on the Wing status, looking over the new fighters to see which one catches her eye ::
(21:52:24) CEO_LtQuinn: CO: Oh, no question. Don't forget, sir, I oversaw that refit myself. At least, until I was called back to help test out that stealth drive. These ships are designed for extended deployment, and it's in good shape.
(21:52:42) ENG_Lt_Ilaihr: ::Retreats into his mind palace as he continues to ponder. He sits overlooking a gameboard of undefined limits and specifications, and watching as the ramifications from their departure from vinland cascade out across the board. Various pieces moving, in a multitude of variations.::
(21:53:33) CEO_LtQuinn: CO: Even so, we ARE going to need to think about our supply situations. And frankly, getting shot at tends to alter those sorts of timetables. I'd love to be optimistic, but it seems only realistic to assume we need to prepare for more of that.
(21:55:02) VAdmBlackthorne: CEO: Understandable and I'll certainly keep that in mind.
(21:55:32) CEO_LtQuinn: CO: Well, if we can't count on our usual supply chain, then I was thinking we might want to do some shopping at Refuge.
(21:56:31) CEO_LtQuinn: :: Presents a PADD. :: I've spent the past few hours compiling a list of onboard stores we could spare that have some good market value. But I figured you'd want to look it over before I tried shopping it around to a bunch of pirates.
(21:57:05) CEO_LtQuinn: :: Coughs :: I mean, it wouldn't be precisely legal. But I wasn't quite sure if we were still worries about that.
(21:58:10) VAdmBlackthorne: :: takes the PADD and looks over it, then back at him :: CEO: Legal enough for now.
(21:59:03) ENG_Lt_Ilaihr: Self: They possess a good many, whilst we possess but a few... ::Briefly opens his eye, and looks around the bridge at the crew, before going back.:: But ours are better. ::Chuckles.::
(22:00:28) CEO_LtQuinn: CO: Okay. Then with your permission, I'll draw up a shopping list, and get to filling it once we get there.
(22:01:17) CEO_LtQuinn: :: Frowns as a thought occurs to him. :: Although, if Wolfe can spare a few marines, it, uh...might be a good idea to bring a little company with me. Just in case I run into a particularly tough negotiator.
(22:01:41) VAdmBlackthorne: CEO: I think that can be arranged, yes.
(22:03:47) NAV_Capt_Harper: :: realizes she's going to need to name a new fighter as well, starts thinking of names ::
(22:05:21) CEO_LtQuinn: Alright, well I guess that's it, then. I'll be in my office until something breaks!
(22:05:53) VAdmBlackthorne: :: nods to Quinn :: CEO: Thanks again, Lieutenant. This machine wouldn't be as well-oiled without you and your people.
(22:06:46) SCI_Lt_TLira: :: is reading over a PADD of recent news while she finishes her meal and notes that it seems as though everything is perfectly calm. Perhaps a bit too calm, considering... but that could also be the weight of recent events making itself known ::
(22:07:46) XO_Capt_TKirr: :: enjoys the quiet of the Bridge, especially since she has so many logs to catch up on ::
(22:07:50) CEO_LtQuinn: :: Nods with a smile. :: Oh, I know. Again, welcome back.
(22:07:59) CEO_LtQuinn: :: Turns and exits. ::
(22:08:08) ENG_Lt_Ilaihr: ::He even makes hand gestures to himself in the air, as he continues moving the pieces around in his mind.::
(22:08:12) VAdmBlackthorne: :: returns the smile and offers thanks as the Chief leaves ::
(22:10:53) CEO_LtQuinn: :: Glances over at the engineering console on his way to the turbolift, and shakes his head as he calls for the ride back down to engineering. ::
(22:11:00) CEO_LtQuinn: :: Mutters :: Nope, don't wanna know.
(22:11:50) XO_Capt_TKirr: :: looks up as Quinn exits the ready room, and as he's waiting for the lift :: Lieutenant. I understand from these reports we have aquired a number of Section 31 computers. Any progress retrieving their data?
(22:13:42) CSO_LCdr_Wright: :: ears perk up... she's been waiting for that data ::
(22:13:43) ENG_Lt_Ilaihr: ::Overhears Quinn.:: CEO: The universe flows like water, minor ripples expanding outward, some becoming grand waves throughout the cosmos.... ::Chuckles, assuming Quinn has run away by now.::
(22:14:36) NAV_Capt_Harper: :: idly wonders if Ilaihr's been into Dr. Endilev's supply of psychedelics ::
(22:17:37) VAdmBlackthorne: :: continues composing the message that he was working on :
(22:18:03) CEO_LtQuinn: :: Not quite. But he is stepping onto the lift. :: ENG: Fantastic. Deck 10 EPS efficiency report. 1800.
(22:18:46) CSO_LCdr_Wright: :: frowns, disappointed ::
(22:22:31) ENG_Lt_Ilaihr: ::Nods.:: CEO: Indeed, Lieutenant. ::Is suddenly unsure if he said that out loud and not telepathically, but journeys back off to where he was, assuming Lieutenant Quinn will inform him of his displeasure if so.::
(22:22:33) CEO_LtQuinn: :: Holds the door open with his arm, catching up belatedly after the usual distraction. :: CO: Sorry, ma'am! As expected, the encryption is some tough stuff. But we're finally beginning to get a look through what it was hiding. Initial report within the hour.
(22:23:11) XO_Capt_TKirr: :: nods quickly :: CEO: I'll let you get back to it. Thank you.
(22:23:16) CSO_LCdr_Wright: :: sudden excitement ::
(22:24:03) CSO_LCdr_Wright: XO: Captain, I have a team standing by to work on analyzing the data as soon as it's available.
(22:24:51) XO_Capt_TKirr: CSO: :: nods to her as well :: Very good.
(22:27:00) CSO_LCdr_Wright: :: relays to the team that they can expect data within the hour ::
(22:31:31) CSO_LCdr_Wright: :: checks how long for the next hourly ops report.. 30 minutes. ::
(22:35:48) ENG_Lt_Ilaihr: ::Has suddenly floated on over to the SCI station.:: CSO: Greetings Commander. ::Smiles.::
(22:36:22) CSO_LCdr_Wright: :: looks up at Ilaihr :: ENG: Oh, hello, Lieutenant. What can I do for you?
(22:38:01) ENG_Lt_Ilaihr: CSO: A pleasant distraction from one's own thoughts. ::Smiles.::
(22:40:13) CSO_LCdr_Wright: ENG: It is a bit quiet. Do you know if Engineering is going to fully decrypt the data? My team can do that.
(22:41:43) XO_Capt_TKirr: :: perks an attuned Vulcan ear, but not too intentionally ::
(22:44:43) ENG_Lt_Ilaihr: ::Nods.:: CSO: It is quiet. ::Feels a familiar feeling, at the silence, the peril and unknown before them.:: I believe they are merely breaking open the hard code of the information. There will he multiple layers of encryption, some of them overlapping and intertwining. It is a delicate process, but they need to solve the backbone of it, which will essentially act as the master encryption key.
(22:44:53) MED_Dr_Tav: :: sees Kymar walk in the door and realizes he's off shift :: CMO: Jakeson's got a ruptured appendix, no biggie there. Raald :: points :: has a broken wrist, but we're almost done with him. The rest of them are all cuts and bumps and the nursing staff has them covered. :: with Kymar's acceptance, Tav takes his coat to his locker and is on his way to Ten Forward ::
(22:47:23) ENG_Lt_Ilaihr: CSO: Your team will still have work ahead of them. But it will be much easier. Think of it like tying string around something, and then a belt, and then a chain, and as you wrap them independently you also interlace and loop them together.
(22:47:59) MED_Dr_Tav: :: steps off the Turbolift, through the doors, orders a stiff drink and takes his table at the middle, facing the oncoming tunnel of light and contrast ::
(22:48:42) CSO_LCdr_Wright: ENG: Oh, certainly, I understand. Honestly, we'll need both teams to work on the lower layers of encryption, I'm sure.
(22:49:13) ENG_Lt_Ilaihr: CSO: Engineering is removing chain, and most of the belt. You mainly just have all the strings to delve through.
(22:49:50) VAdmBlackthorne: :: composes an eyes only coded message for Minuteman Actual and sends it over :: "Doug—Go get Alexi and take him home. They'll know how to help him, and we'll need him. All my thanks, Ian."
(22:49:59) ENG_Lt_Ilaihr: CSO: But there's much more actual information on the string. ::Smiles.::
