(6:12:46 PM) CO_Capt_Harper: :: checking in on a few things on a PADD while the scans commence ::
(6:13:42 PM) CMO_Cmdr_Kymar: ::goes over the results with a smile, glancing up at his head nurse:: Wotesh: That was some good work, balancing the isoboramine levels with the cortical stabiliser was genius. I look forward to reading your paper on it.
(6:13:48 PM) CSO_LCdr_Wright: :: raises her brows at the scan results and double-checks them, just to be sure ::
(6:14:01 PM) CTO_Maj_Wolfe: :: scans for the stuff for which he always scans. Amazingly, there are no threats on sensors. Imagine that. ::
(6:14:40 PM) CMO_Cmdr_Kymar: <Nurse_Wotesh> ::blushes a little and snatches the PADD from the CMO's hands with a smile:: CMO: I'll think about it. ::wanders off to check some other things::
(6:14:48 PM) SCI_Lt_TLira: :: is working on her expanding scans of the surrounding space. Currently, the situation has not changed. The only thing in this region is this planet ::
(6:15:11 PM) ENG_LtJG_Ilaihr: Self: There's something quite alluring about this darkened world, cast off from it place of berth.
(6:15:13 PM) CSO_LCdr_Wright: CO: The scans appear to show that the planet is rich in dilithium, Captain. I've checked them twice, no variation in results.
(6:16:16 PM) CO_Capt_Harper: :: perks up :: CSO: Excellent. That will come as welcome news to command.
(6:16:24 PM) CSO_LCdr_Wright: CO: I've already detected a significant amount and scanning is still incomplete.
(6:16:42 PM) ENG_LtJG_Ilaihr: ::Chuckles on his own play on words, his interest piquing at the mention of dilithium.::
(6:17:59 PM) CO_Capt_Harper: CSO: It is good that we got here first then.
(6:18:35 PM) XO_Cdr_Vallero: :: squints towards the viewscreen and other officers as they speak, watching how they interact and respond to this curiosity ::
(6:18:41 PM) CSO_LCdr_Wright: :: turns to look at Kate :: CO: First? Are we expecting competition, Captain?
(6:19:18 PM) ENG_LtJG_Ilaihr: CSO: How much dilithium is there exactly?
(6:19:28 PM) CO_Capt_Harper: CSO: No, but such a rich source of dilithium just out here would eventually attract someone.
(6:19:35 PM) CO_Capt_Harper: XO: Good thing that someone is us, yes?
(6:19:46 PM) SCI_Lt_TLira: :: the eyebrow lifts at the remote possibility of competition. That would mean rivalries, which would lead to a fight, which would lead to likely unpleasantness for one or both parties. Emphasis on unpleasantness ::
(6:21:00 PM) XO_Cdr_Vallero: CO: :: smiles agreeably :: Yes, lucky us!
(6:23:20 PM) CSO_LCdr_Wright: ENG: Scans are incomplete, but the quantities are significant. See for yourself. :: tap taps on her console to display an overlay of the detected dilithium deposits over the dark planet below ::
(6:23:27 PM) CTO_Maj_Wolfe: :: blips :: CO: We have an incoming vessel, unknown configuration, high warp.
(6:23:51 PM) SCI_Lt_TLira: :: totally called it. She totally knew there'd be some form of confrontation ::
(6:24:06 PM) XO_Cdr_Vallero: :: mumbles :: Of course we do.
(6:24:35 PM) CO_Capt_Harper: CTO: Yellow alert, shields up.
(6:24:53 PM) CSO_LCdr_Wright: :: shifts her tired eyes briefly to the XO, having heard his mumble ::
(6:25:07 PM) CTO_Maj_Wolfe: CO: Aye, Captain. Yellow Alert. :: raises shields and switches to condition Yellow. ::
(6:25:25 PM) ENG_LtJG_Ilaihr: ::Smiles at Wright then at the telemetry, his lip quivering; latinum briefly whirling in his eyes, snapped out of it by the alert.:: Self: Seems company came sooner than expected.
(6:25:52 PM) NAV_2Lt_Suzuki: :: maintains polar orbit, but prepares several options for evasive maneuvers ::
(6:26:23 PM) CO_Capt_Harper: ACTION> The ship drops out of warp.
(6:27:34 PM) CTO_Maj_Wolfe: CO: The vessel has dropped out of warp. It does not resemble anything in the Starfleet database.
(6:27:49 PM) CO_Capt_Harper: CTO: On screen.
(6:28:10 PM) XO_Cdr_Vallero: :: sits on the edge of his seat, eyes on the main viewer ::
(6:28:25 PM) CTO_Maj_Wolfe: :: activates the viewscreen sensors in the direction of the vessel and readies hailing frequencies ::
(6:29:27 PM) CO_Capt_Harper: ACTION> A decidedly ugly ship appears on the screen, as if parts from every known race were put into a blender and molded into a spaceship.
(6:30:27 PM) ENG_LtJG_Ilaihr: ::Stares on curiously, a familiar visage he thought.::
(6:30:55 PM) XO_Cdr_Vallero: :: begins making judgments in his mind of such an ugly ship ::
(6:31:16 PM) CO_Capt_Harper: CSO: Hail them.
(6:31:23 PM) NAV_2Lt_Suzuki: :: tense in her seat, awaiting orders ::
(6:32:14 PM) SCI_Lt_TLira: :: is mildly concerned as to what the creators of such displeasing ships could possibly look like ::
(6:32:36 PM) CSO_LCdr_Wright: UglyMcUglyShip: Unknown vessel, this is the USS Atlantis. Please identify.
(6:34:34 PM) CO_Capt_Harper: ACTION> A man that looks human appears on the screen, fairly scruffy-looking, but well-spoken. His surroundings are ugly and in poor taste, but clean.
(6:35:13 PM) CO_Capt_Harper: Flynn> I am Captain Flynn of the Mercutio, a Free Fleets vessel. This is our territory and thus, this rogue planet is also ours.
(6:36:02 PM) CEO_LtQuinn: :: Running scans to determine if the ship is at least more functional than it is pretty. ::
(6:36:05 PM) XO_Cdr_Vallero: :: tenses, scrutinizing Flynn ::
(6:36:33 PM) CO_Capt_Harper: :: immediately suspicious, having been there when the situation with the Free Fleets developed :: *Flynn* I am Captain Kathryn Harper of the Federation Starship Atlantis. You might remember us from the unpleasantries that led to the recognition of the Free Fleets by the Federation?
(6:37:37 PM) CO_Capt_Harper: Flynn> Oh, of course, Captain, yes, I certainly remember you and your ship. Since you were here, you certainly are aware of your territorial violation.
(6:38:18 PM) ENG_LtJG_Ilaihr: ::Is silently eyeing up the this Captain Flynn, checking the telemetry of the Mercutio.:: Self: It seems the spirit lives on. ::He smiles.::
(6:38:47 PM) NAV_2Lt_Suzuki: :: checks territorial maps, out of curiosity ::
(6:38:48 PM) XO_Cdr_Vallero: :: glances sidelong to Harper, having not been there for the "unpleasantries" with the Free Fleets, and wonders how Harper will handle this ::
(6:39:29 PM) CO_Capt_Harper: *Flynn* On the contrary, while we are close to the Hinterlands, we are well outside the boundaries given by the treaty. Perhaps if we could speak directly with Lady Ashexana or Lord Coburn, we could work this out peacefully?
(6:40:04 PM) CO_Capt_Harper: Flynn> They are, regrettably unavailable. You will deal directly with me, as I am here.
(6:40:37 PM) CSO_LCdr_Wright: :: smirks to herself, rather loves it when Kate is a badass ::
(6:41:30 PM) SCI_Lt_TLira: :: is going back over previous mission reports, searching for the last encounter with the Free Fleets to get a better idea of who these people are and how they might react ::
(6:41:43 PM) CO_Capt_Harper: *Flynn* Mm, so I must. Just to be sure that you do represent the Free Fleets and are bound by the treaty, can you present your Letter of Marque and Reprisal?
(6:42:03 PM) CO_Capt_Harper: ACTION> Flynn scowls and the screen goes dark.
(6:42:24 PM) CSO_LCdr_Wright: :: looks up at the screen in surprise ::
(6:42:31 PM) CTO_Maj_Wolfe: :: seemingly without moving his hands, has the phaser targeting system manually trained on the Free Fleets ship ::
(6:42:46 PM) ENG_LtJG_Ilaihr: Self: A thespian it seems.
(6:43:21 PM) NAV_2Lt_Suzuki: :: hand hovering over the controls in anticipation ::
(6:43:31 PM) XO_Cdr_Vallero: CTO: Red Alert!
(6:43:39 PM) CO_Capt_Harper: ACTION> The Mercutio fires a volley of Federation photon torpedoes.
(6:43:50 PM) CTO_Maj_Wolfe: :: switches to Condition Red :: XO: Red Alert, Aye.
(6:44:07 PM) CO_Capt_Harper: :: sees that on the screen, her XO having handled the alert :: NAV: Evasive!
(6:44:11 PM) SCI_Lt_TLira: :: clearly, he did not wish to present proof of his identity. Switches from her previous scans to scans of his ship ::
(6:44:13 PM) CTO_Maj_Wolfe: All: Incoming!
(6:44:25 PM) CO_Capt_Harper: CTO: Return fire, quantum torpedoes and phasers free.
(6:44:30 PM) NAV_2Lt_Suzuki: :: immediately takes evasive action, banking hard starboard ::
(6:44:48 PM) CEO_LtQuinn: :: Silently diverts power from the far end to reinforce shields at the point of impact. ::
(6:45:07 PM) CMO_Cmdr_Kymar: ::hears the red alert klaxon and begins putting everyone to their duty stations:: All: Alright, you know the drills. Notify the nurse stations, begin forming triage and get the OR prepped.
(6:45:13 PM) ENG_LtJG_Ilaihr: ::Holds on tight, checking the systems status. Thinking to himself how unsporting this chap is.::
(6:45:22 PM) CO_Capt_Harper: ACTION> Most of the torpedoes miss thanks to the evasives, but a few do dent our shields.
(6:45:28 PM) CSO_LCdr_Wright: :: at red alert, suspended scanning operations to free up power for shields ::
(6:46:10 PM) CTO_Maj_Wolfe: :: quickly gains the calculations and fires a volley of Federation Quantum torpedos at the ship, followed in kind with the phaser banks ::
(6:46:50 PM) NAV_2Lt_Suzuki: :: circles back around to line up a good shot for Wolfe ::
(6:47:16 PM) CO_Capt_Harper: ACTION> The ship goes into evasives of its own, but takes a few hits, and manages to deal with them better than one might think from looking at the thing.
(6:47:50 PM) CTO_Maj_Wolfe: :: follows Atlantis's turns with the phasers, noting the turns for his favor, and lands hit after hit with the phasers ::
(6:48:14 PM) CO_Capt_Harper: ACTION> The Mercutio comes back around and launches several Romulan plasma torpedoes.
(6:49:16 PM) CO_Capt_Harper: NAV: Evasive pattern Harper delta four! :: picks out a familiar one from her time at the helm ::
(6:49:20 PM) CTO_Maj_Wolfe: :: aims with phasers at the Romulan torpedos, taking a few out ::
(6:49:28 PM) XO_Cdr_Vallero: CO: :: notes the distinctive weapons in surprise :: Romulan, huh?
(6:49:40 PM) CO_Capt_Harper: XO: I would like to find the weapons depot he raided.
(6:49:54 PM) CEO_LtQuinn: *CTO* Engineering to tactical, this is main engineering! Come in, please!
(6:50:12 PM) CO_Capt_Harper: ACTION> A couple of the plasmas slam into the shields, which absorb them with a groan.
(6:50:18 PM) ENG_LtJG_Ilaihr: ::Is all reminiscent, as he watches the battle unfold.:: CSO: It's certainly strange seeing this from the other side.
(6:50:40 PM) NAV_2Lt_Suzuki: :: dips below UglyMcUglyShip's plane and circles back low and fast, smoothly transitioning to the pattern requested by the CO ::
(6:50:44 PM) CTO_Maj_Wolfe: :: continually fires, but realizing that the weapons are probably coming from several distinct systems, instead aims for the engines :: CEO: Go ahead. :: bounces around as he fires off another volley of Quantum torepdos ::
(6:51:34 PM) CSO_LCdr_Wright: :: shoots Ilaihr a confused look when she realizes he is addressing her, then turns back to the matter at hand ::
(6:52:12 PM) CO_Capt_Harper: ACTION> The Mercutio returns fire, this time with Klingon torpedoes and disruptors.
(6:52:39 PM) CMO_Cmdr_Kymar: ::grabs a hold of one of the biobeds as the ship rocks from obvious weapons fire, pointing out a spare bed to the latest newcomer, supported by his fellows and with a badly burned leg, uniform pants in tatters and charred flesh visible:: Crewman: Get him up there, quickly. ::moves over, shouting over his shoulder:: I need dermaline gel and a grafting template for Crewman Theo!
(6:52:41 PM) CSO_LCdr_Wright: :: notes the origin of the weapon signatures with confusion :: Self: Who ARE these people?
(6:52:43 PM) CO_Capt_Harper: CTO: Target their engines, Major. :: unaware that he's already doing it::
(6:52:57 PM) SCI_Lt_TLira: :: monitors various ship systems, making sure they all stay in line, ready to divert power wherever needed, if needed. As matters are at the moment, it looks as if things may go for the better... for the Atlantis, anyway ::
(6:53:25 PM) CEO_LtQuinn: *CTO* Sir, I've been analyzing the fluctuations in the enemy ship's shield bubble. Surprisingly solid, but the hodgepodge nature of the ship's hull makes ideal placement of auxiliary shield generators a bit of a problem. I've identified a few different spots where the output drops. Sending them to your display now.
(6:53:38 PM) CTO_Maj_Wolfe: CO: Already on it! I've also found and am ready to go for their warp core if you authorize it.
(6:53:47 PM) CO_Capt_Harper: ACTION> The Mercutio manages to absorb several more quantum torpedo shots than one might expect it to, but suddenly jumps to warp and flees.
(6:54:10 PM) NAV_2Lt_Suzuki: :: moves to pursue, but waits for Harper's order ::
(6:54:12 PM) CEO_LtQuinn: *CTO* Not as big as you'd want chinks in the armor to be, but...oh, well. If there's a next time, I guess.
(6:54:28 PM) SCI_Lt_TLira: :: blinks. Running away? That was certainly unexpected. ::
(6:54:38 PM) CMO_Cmdr_Kymar: ::watches as the nurse applies the dermaline gel, tidying the area up with a regenerator to prep for minor surgery while one of the medtechs begins replicating skin grafts::
(6:54:42 PM) CO_Capt_Harper: NAV: Let them go. XO: This feels like a trap.
(6:55:06 PM) CTO_Maj_Wolfe: :: isn't sure how to respond to Quinn since the fight seems to be over for now, and thinks a moment :: CEO: Send it anyway. It may be helpful if we encounter that ship again.
(6:55:32 PM) ENG_LtJG_Ilaihr: ::Smirks, as the ship warps off on sensors.:: CO: Perhaps a test, Captain?
(6:55:40 PM) XO_Cdr_Vallero: :: stays silent, feeling the urge to follow, but he realizes Harper could be right ::
(6:56:16 PM) NAV_2Lt_Suzuki: :: lets them go as ordered, standing down :: CO: Resume polar orbit, Captain?
(6:57:17 PM) CO_Capt_Harper: NAV: Yes. All: Resume mapping and scanning operations, maintain yellow alert.
(6:57:17 PM) SCI_Lt_TLira: :: suddenly has an idea and isn't fond of it :: CO: Sir, could it be that they were only a scouting party? To determine our strength and then report it to their fellows in order to respond with what they feel is appropriate force?
(6:58:35 PM) CO_Capt_Harper: SCI: Yes, that could be. I will tell you one thing; that ship is not in the Free Fleets.
(6:58:38 PM) NAV_2Lt_Suzuki: :: coaxes the ship back into polar orbit as ordered, but keeps her evasives and area vacation options handy ::
(6:59:12 PM) SCI_Lt_TLira: :: the eyebrow goes up again and its back to the records for this one, trying to identify to which group that ship could possibly belong to ::
(6:59:55 PM) CO_Capt_Harper: ENG: It is likely that they wanted us to follow to lure us away from this place.
(7:00:01 PM) CEO_LtQuinn: *CTO* You should have it now, sir. Good reading, if nothing else.
(7:00:04 PM) CSO_LCdr_Wright: CO: I'm sorry, Captain, I checked sensors and transmission logs and didn't find anything useful.
(7:00:06 PM) XO_Cdr_Vallero: CO: Your officer could be right. Perhaps we should follow, or Flynn could bring help.
(7:00:39 PM) CMO_Cmdr_Kymar: ::glances up as the red alert lights go away, giving him back a decent amount of light while he finishes up the graft, autosuture to apply the skin, neural stimulator to quickly repair nerve endings and finally a dermal regenerator to make it look wholly healed - although untanned::
(7:01:16 PM) CTO_Maj_Wolfe: :: looks at the schematics coming across his screen :: CEO: Very good. I'll get that uploaded into our tactical database, though I think it only works for that particular ship. If we encounter something similar, how long do you need to send me those same weak points?
(7:01:18 PM) CEO_LtQuinn: :: Begins running a full diagnostic on the EPS grid, looking to make sure none of the circuits took any unexpected stress outside normal tolerances. ::
(7:01:34 PM) CO_Capt_Harper: :: finds his use of "your officer" to be curious :: XO: If we follow, it is all but guaranteed that Flynn will have help. If we stay, it is only a possibility.
(7:01:47 PM) ENG_LtJG_Ilaihr: ::Nods:: CO: Its what I would have done. I wager that Captain Flynn has a few more tricks up his sleeve.
(7:02:54 PM) CEO_LtQuinn: *CTO* Yes, sir. Those readings are unique to that ship, and that mish mash hull configuration. As for any other ships...I should be able to get you some preliminary readings in a similar timeframe, if such a weakness even exists for the ship in question.
(7:04:48 PM) CTO_Maj_Wolfe: CEO: Very good. If we go to combat again, make that your first priority.
(7:05:50 PM) CO_Capt_Harper: :: mulls over actually contacting the Free Fleets, but decides against it for now ::
(7:06:06 PM) CSO_LCdr_Wright: CO: Scans 80% complete.
(7:07:34 PM) CEO_LtQuinn: ::Feels an unexpected twinge of possessive irritation at being told how to prioritize care of his ship, but manages to keep the tension out of his voice.:: *CTO* Acknowledged, Commander. Engineering out.
(7:07:36 PM) CO_Capt_Harper: :: remembers :: XO: Damage report summary, Commander.
(7:08:01 PM) CTO_Maj_Wolfe: :: forwards Vallero his section of the reports ::
(7:08:17 PM) XO_Cdr_Vallero: :: nods and looks down to his screen ::
(7:08:51 PM) CMO_Cmdr_Kymar: ::tidies up and lets the medtechs take over, prepping the injury report for the XO and sending it up along with a note to drive a little more carefully::
(7:09:23 PM) CSO_LCdr_Wright: :: sends her report section to Vallero, somewhat apathetically, not that you could tell. ::
(7:09:42 PM) XO_Cdr_Vallero: CO: Minor damage and injuries. Shields took the brunt of it.
(7:11:27 PM) CO_Capt_Harper: XO: Thank you, Commander. :: glances at the helm, itching to check the navigation and propulsion systems herself ::
(7:11:33 PM) SCI_Lt_TLira: :: is mildly grateful that only minor damage occurred. Major damage would likely leave them... what was the phrase... "sitting ducks" ::
(7:11:37 PM) CSO_LCdr_Wright: :: bitterly misses T'Kirr for a few moments before suppressing the feeling ::
(7:12:49 PM) CO_Capt_Harper: :: looks to the main viewer, which has returned to showing the planet below, and still feels a bit out of place in the center of everything ::
(7:13:08 PM) CSO_LCdr_Wright: CO: Scanning complete.
(7:13:47 PM) CO_Capt_Harper: :: snaps back to her job :: CSO: How does it look?
(7:14:27 PM) ENG_LtJG_Ilaihr: ::Ponders further on this Flynn and his ship. While having fond memories of Betty, he was more preoccupied with Flynn's game. Attacking a Federation flagship is a dangerous one to play, even to lure it away. He sighs.::
(7:15:23 PM) CSO_LCdr_Wright: CO: The dilithium deposit frequency in the latter half of the scan was comparable to the former. :: taptaps and puts up the overlay again :: As you can see, the quantity is indeed significant. Though it seems we may not have been first after all.
(7:16:05 PM) CO_Capt_Harper: CSO: Perhaps. Package all of that up in a report for Starfleet Command.
(7:16:59 PM) XO_Cdr_Vallero: :: looks at the overlay with interest while it's up ::
(7:17:23 PM) CSO_LCdr_Wright: :: looks back up from her console :: CO: Already done, Captain. Shall I transmit now, or wait until we are closer to Federation space?
(7:17:33 PM) CO_Capt_Harper: XO: With the post-war activity, that much dilithium will make an inpact.
(7:17:57 PM) XO_Cdr_Vallero: CO: It certainly would.
(7:17:59 PM) CO_Capt_Harper: CSO: Go ahead and send it.
(7:18:19 PM) CEO_LtQuinn: :: Picks an underling at random. :: Hey, Gant. If we get any new contacts on sensors, I want you to scan their shields and relay any weaknesses to Commander Wolfe.
(7:18:24 PM) ENG_LtJG_Ilaihr: All: It'd be worth a small fortune in latinum.
(7:18:43 PM) CO_Capt_Harper: XO: Have marker buoys prepared for launch that stake our claim to this planet.
(7:19:00 PM) CSO_LCdr_Wright: :: takes a few moments to send the encoded transmission to Starfleed Command :: CO: Transmission complete.
(7:19:19 PM) ENG_LtJG_Ilaihr: All: An enterprising privateer would be hard pressed to ignore it.
(7:19:35 PM) CEO_LtQuinn: :: Mutters. :: There. It's a top priority. Never told me to report it personally, did you?
(7:20:38 PM) CO_Capt_Harper: ENG: The methods that they might use for extraction could be somewhat worrisome.
(7:21:51 PM) XO_Cdr_Vallero: :: nods and studies his screen, bringing up a map to pick coordinates for buoys and sending the result to the CTO's console ::
(7:22:15 PM) CSO_LCdr_Wright: Self: What are the odds that a rogue planet floating alone through space would turn out to be rich in valuable resources.
(7:22:18 PM) CO_Capt_Harper: :: Stands :: XO: You have the bridge.
(7:22:34 PM) SCI_Lt_TLira: :: continues searching for a clue as to where the Mercutio might have come from or who they may be working for and is coming up with a complete blank ::
(7:22:37 PM) XO_Cdr_Vallero: :: stands with Harper :: Understood.
(7:22:41 PM) CSO_LCdr_Wright: :: looks up at Kate when she stands ::
(7:22:49 PM) ENG_LtJG_Ilaihr: CO: A score this big makes it hard to work alone, we may end up facing a pack in the future.
(7:25:03 PM) CO_Capt_Harper: CSO: Get me a secure channel to the Federation Diplomatic Corps and route it to the ready room.
(7:25:40 PM) CTO_Maj_Wolfe: :: uses the map from Vallero and programs the buoys and torpedo tubes ::
(7:25:57 PM) CSO_LCdr_Wright: CO: Aye, Captain. :: sets about establishing the secure link, knowing it will take a little while way out here ::
(7:26:31 PM) CO_Capt_Harper: :: walks into the ready room, thinking that if the Free Fleets wanted recognition and diplomatic relations, that it's time to use them ::
(7:27:27 PM) XO_Cdr_Vallero: :: watches Harper leave the Bridge and stands there, contemplatively ::
(7:28:09 PM) SCI_Lt_TLira: :: is starting to become mildly annoyed by the complete lack of anything the databanks have. Clearly, this is truly an instance of making contact with the unknown ::
(7:28:18 PM) CSO_LCdr_Wright: :: notes the new XO standing behind her and is unimpressed, though she is trying (not very hard) to give him a chance ::
(7:29:06 PM) CSO_LCdr_Wright: :: finally makes contact with the Federation Diplomatic Corps :: FDC: Please stand by for Captain Harper. :: routes the secure channel to the RR ::
(7:30:16 PM) CO_Capt_Harper: :: exchanges pleasantries with the first ambassador, then is transferred to the one assigned to the Free Fleets ::
(7:31:14 PM) XO_Cdr_Vallero: :: comes out of his thoughts and peers over to Tactical :: CTO: Progress on the buoys?
(7:32:19 PM) CTO_Maj_Wolfe: :: continues working without looking up :: XO: Launching... now. :: hits the button and issues the command ::
(7:32:49 PM) CSO_LCdr_Wright: :: feels really weird about reporting to someone who hasn't even shown a lick of interest in her whatsoever and doubts he even knows her name ::
(7:33:02 PM) XO_Cdr_Vallero: :: nods and looks to the viewscreen, reminding himself he's aboard a Sovereign not an Akira, and that they could have unwelcome company at any moment ::
(7:34:56 PM) ENG_LtJG_Ilaihr: XO: Is she what you expected? Atlantis I mean.
(7:35:13 PM) ENG_LtJG_Ilaihr: ::Gives a welcoming smile::
(7:36:01 PM) CO_Capt_Harper: :: Explains the situation and forwards along a letter intended for Coburn and/or Ashexana that personally explains that they have someone claiming their flag causing trouble outside the treaty and tarnishing their reputuation ::
(7:36:15 PM) XO_Cdr_Vallero: :: swivels at Ilaihr's words and smiles back :: ENG: I wasn't sure exactly what to expect, other than the standard Sovereign schematics, but...well, she's certainly an impressive ship.
(7:37:39 PM) SCI_Lt_TLira: :: is just a tad bit wary of this new first officer, but won't ever admit that. Meanwhile, her focus has shifted from searching for what is unknown to connecting the dots on what is known about the Mercutio and what just transpired ::
(7:38:25 PM) ENG_LtJG_Ilaihr: XO: With an impressive crew. And in time you'll see that we can do amazing things with her. ::Grins.::
(7:39:32 PM) CO_Capt_Harper: :: signs off on the letter, figuring they'll recognize the name at least somewhat, and ends the call ::
(7:39:48 PM) CSO_LCdr_Wright: :: silently blesses Ilaihr for reminding this guy that there are people here, unaware that he can hear her thoughts ::
(7:41:10 PM) XO_Cdr_Vallero: :: bows his head :: ENG: I will expect to be impressed. :: darts his eyes towards Wright when he takes note of her watching him ::
(7:42:16 PM) XO_Cdr_Vallero: ENG/CSO: I'm certainly already impressed by the slipstream drive. Quite a system.
(7:42:47 PM) CSO_LCdr_Wright: :: notes the channel closing and out of recent habit, sends a text reading "<3" to the RR console ::
(7:43:08 PM) CO_Capt_Harper: :: gets the <3 and can't help but to smile ::
(7:43:35 PM) ENG_LtJG_Ilaihr: XO: It is. ::Sighs.:: The trouble I could have gotten into with a device like that back, in the day.
(7:44:36 PM) CO_Capt_Harper: :: sends back a <3 of her own and then a message to HQ requesting mining operations and escort ships ::
(7:44:46 PM) SCI_Lt_TLira: :: the dot aren't helping either, so there went that idea. Currently, nothing has led to nowhere, so that is shunted aside for now and she turns her focus back to her original project, the expanding scans ::
(7:44:47 PM) CO_Capt_Harper: :: makes sure that she doesn't confuse those two messages ::
