(21:19:06) MED_Ens_DrSlade: :: In Sickbay reviewing the medical scans from the away mission::
(21:20:45) CO_VAdmBlackthorne: :: on the bridge, awaiting T'Kirr's return ::
(21:21:38) SCI_LtJG_TLira: :: going over the sensor logs and working on a way to boost the Atlantis' transporter gain without a shuttle should such a situation happen again, but with no available shuttle ::
(21:21:45) XO_Capt_TKirr: :: rides TL to Bridge after a prompt priority check-in and clearance from Sickbay ::
(21:21:54) CTO_Maj_Wolfe: :: is in the armory, checking the checklists to make sure everything has been properly cleaned and stowed. Oh, sure. He COULD do this from the Bridge, and in fact the computer is designed to do it for him and delegate. But these are weapons, and weapon safety is his department. Any injury or death aboard Atlantis or on an away mission is his fault, and that means it's worth the extra work to him. ::
(21:22:43) CSO_LCdr_Wright: :: as they walk :: Kate: I wonder if we could outfit a portable storage array with sensor inputs so we can document these log entries. At the very least we should bring a voice recording device so we can dictate what we're seeing instead of trying to memorize.
(21:23:58) ENG_LtJG_Ilaihr: ::Is walking quietly to the bridge, reviewing the experience he had on the planet. Studying the sights and sounds in his minds eye, focusing heavily on 'the light' and pondering it's true purpose.::
(21:24:05) NAV_Cdr_Harper: CSO: I am trying not to imagine the reactions of the Gencodians in the simulation to your narrations of their lives, but they seemed so real.
(21:24:35) NAV_Cdr_Harper: CSO: Far more than a holodeck does, at least.
(21:25:03) XO_Capt_TKirr: :: arrives on the Bridge, does a quick scan to see who's there, spots Blackthorne and makes her way towards him ::
(21:25:29) CO_VAdmBlackthorne: :: can't help but to smile as his wife returns to the bridge after being caught in an underground collapse :: XO: Welcome back, Captain.
(21:25:38) CSO_LCdr_Wright: NAV: Well, I mean, at least things like the column. It wouldn't be as strange to read it aloud. But in the end, it's just a recording... I wonder how far the programming goes for reaction to viewer behavior? Hmmmm.
(21:26:21) NAV_Cdr_Harper: CSO: That is an interesting thought on its own. By stressing the simulated Gencodians, perhaps we can learn more about their cultural standards. What did they consider to be rude, for example.
(21:27:17) CSO_LCdr_Wright: :: turns to Kate with an excited expression :: NAV: THAT would be a most entertaining experiment!
(21:27:25) XO_Capt_TKirr: :: resists the urge to dust off her shoulder. When she bows her head, a puff of smoke floats down in front of her face, and she grimaces :: It's good to be back.
(21:27:46) CO_VAdmBlackthorne: XO: You could use a shower. ::: chuckles ::
(21:28:22) NAV_Cdr_Harper: CSO: Yes, it could! If we get a chance to run it, though. I imagine we will have limited time.
(21:28:40) ENG_LtJG_Ilaihr: ::Comes to the TL and waits for it to arrive, humming to himself.::
(21:28:58) XO_Capt_TKirr: CO: Indeed. :: eyebrow perk ::
(21:30:15) CSO_LCdr_Wright: NAV: Not all THAT limited, surely?
(21:30:59) CO_VAdmBlackthorne: XO: Tell me about this computer.
(21:31:31) XO_Capt_TKirr: :: takes a seat next to Blackthorne so that she can speak more softly ::
(21:31:48) NAV_Cdr_Harper: CSO: I do not know.
(21:31:54) MED_Ens_DrSlade: *ENG* sickbay to ilahir
(21:32:20) SCI_LtJG_TLira: :: looks over the data a bit more and drafts a plan that would involve temporarily draining power from the engines and possibly from life-support, if the numbers balance out. ::
(21:32:20) ENG_LtJG_Ilaihr: *MED*: Yes, doctor?
(21:32:24) TAC_2LT_Randen: :: Goes to the bridge to man the tactical console until the Major is ready to. ::
(21:32:48) MED_Ens_DrSlade: *ENG* Have you been cleared through medical yet?
(21:33:47) XO_Capt_TKirr: CO: Harper spoke to the computer in Gencodian. After it attempted security measures on us and failed, it appeared to scan each of us and send us into some sort of...vision of the last days of the Gencodian people as they escaped from an invasion force.
(21:35:25) ENG_LtJG_Ilaihr: *MED*: I believe so yes. I'm sure Doctor Kymar is in the habit of mentioning such things.
(21:35:42) CO_VAdmBlackthorne: XO: Escaped, how?
(21:35:50) GM_James [james@S0106848dc7ebc014.vc.shawcable.net] entered the room.
(21:35:50) mode (+qo GM_James GM_James) by ChanServ
(21:35:56) XO_Capt_TKirr: CO: :: eyes wide :: It was more than a vision, though...it was as if we were there. A holodeck program doesn't nearly explain it, either. Our bodies appeared to be Gencodian, and...our senses were sharpened. I'm quite sure I was seeing infrared and ultraviolet wavelengths, and heard frequencies I could barely process.
(21:36:02) GM_James is now known as CMO_Cmdr_Kymar
(21:36:52) CO_VAdmBlackthorne: XO: That sounds incredible.
(21:37:45) MED_Ens_DrSlade: *ENG*: The reason I ask is not to trick you into Sickbay, this time, I am reviewing my scans from the caves and I thought you may want to look through the readings from the time the projection was going. you would know more than I in this area
(21:39:44) XO_Capt_TKirr: CO: :: nods :: It surely was. :: frowns as she recalls the archway :: There was some sort of portal they all chose to escape through instead of fight...to transcend, I was told. I'm unaware of where it leads, but when we passed through, we awoke. The Away Team is assembling reports on what their tricorders could gather. I'll have it by seventeen-hundred.
(21:40:20) CO_VAdmBlackthorne: :: quite jealous, sure she's sensing it from him :: XO: So, do you think this computer could safely be used again?
(21:40:23) ENG_LtJG_Ilaihr: ::Is not convinced.:: *MED*: I'm certain your medical training is more than adequate doctor; I'm sure there's nothing I could further shed light on.
(21:42:05) XO_Capt_TKirr: CO: When I was cleared in Sickbay, I was not given any information that says otherwise, and no one has complained of any ill effects. I believe so.
(21:42:36) CO_VAdmBlackthorne: :: furrows his brow :: XO: What of the state of the computer itself? It is twenty thousand years old, can we be sure it will continue to work?
(21:43:01) ENG_LtJG_Ilaihr: ::Hops in the TL to the bridge, still trying to visualise the final moments before reawakening.::
(21:43:02) MED_Ens_DrSlade: *ENG*: Suit yourself Lieutenant I just hope I can differentiate the different wave forms being emitted. I will have to do my best.
(21:43:12) XO_Capt_TKirr: CO: We cannot be sure of anything, as it is as you say, it is ancient.
(21:43:24) CMO_Cmdr_Kymar: ::stares at the results of his scans in the biolab, scrolling through slowly as he compares them with the baseline scans from their original transport down, going through each line of brainwave activity::
(21:43:33) CO_VAdmBlackthorne: XO: Then we should try to take a backup.
(21:44:30) XO_Capt_TKirr: CO: Once the tunnel is cleared, I will assemble Science and Engineering to attempt so.
(21:44:55) MED_Ens_DrSlade: :: Walks into the Bio Lab:: CMO: Commander, I am not seeing any evidence of a photonic projection so I dont believe it was a hologram. Unless i am missing something, but i am no engineer
(21:45:02) CO_VAdmBlackthorne: XO: Perhaps we could even adapt it to our holodecks and use it at will?
(21:45:38) XO_Capt_TKirr: CO: That would be an ideal endeavor.
(21:46:11) CSO_LCdr_Wright: :: exits the TL onto the Bridge with Kate and moves to assume her station, relieving T'Lira ::
(21:46:17) CO_VAdmBlackthorne: XO: I agree. Have engineering prioritize finishing the excavation and shore up the cavern you were trapped in. Then let's try to make a copy of that computer.
(21:46:24) SCI_LtJG_TLira: :: moves to an aux science station and continues her work ::
(21:46:34) ENG_LtJG_Ilaihr: ::Steps off the TL and moves towards the ENG station.:: Self: The was a great structure, then brilliant light, then reality... what happened between the light and reality....
(21:46:46) XO_Capt_TKirr: :: nods ::
(21:47:17) XO_Capt_TKirr: CO: After I check and get an ETA...perhaps a shower is in order.
(21:47:27) CMO_Cmdr_Kymar: ::keeps his eye on his scans while he talks, multi-tasking like only a Doctor can:: MED: It seems to me like it was some kind of direct neural connection, overlaying stimuli over the brain to basically fool our eyes, our ears, our skin into believe that what we witnessess was real. Have you ever seen a Romulan Psychotricorder? Similar principle, I think, I need to go over the results.
(21:48:49) CO_VAdmBlackthorne: :: chuckles as Harper and Wright arrive, similarly dirty :: XO: Perhaps you should all be released to clean up a bit.
(21:49:23) NAV_Cdr_Harper: :: relieves whoever's at the helm and checks in, not much to do in orbit but be satisfied with the parameters ::
(21:49:29) CSO_LCdr_Wright: CO: :: excitedly :: And to think, that was only the final log entry! There's so much more we can learn!
(21:49:34) MED_Ens_DrSlade: :: Hands his tricorder and PADD to the CMO:: CMO: Of course sir, also all of the away team has been medically cleared with no residual effects noted, but they have all be instructed to inform us immediately if anything out of the ordinary occurs.
(21:50:36) CMO_Cmdr_Kymar: ::nods, taking the PADD without looking and adding it to the others as smooth as butter:: MED: Good. I want everyone to check in with Sickbay in 5 days just in case there are effects that we're just not seeing yet, our brains processed a lot of information down there in a...unique way.
(21:50:38) XO_Capt_TKirr: :: watches Wright bounce excitedly ::
(21:51:02) CO_VAdmBlackthorne: CSO: We will get all we can from it, don't worry.
(21:54:32) ENG_LtJG_Ilaihr: ::Starts looking up historical documents on religious and ideological constructs similar to this 'Dimensional Relay'... so called ascension or enlightenment devices.::
(21:54:36) XO_Capt_TKirr: :: nods to Wright, and glances behind her at Harper :: CSO: You and Harper are free to freshen up. There is time before making your reports.
(21:54:40) CSO_LCdr_Wright: CO: I was thinking perhaps we could find a way to back up their data... I assume from your expressions that you've already discussed this? :: looks at Blackthorne and T'Kirr ::
(21:54:45) NAV_Cdr_Harper: XO: Thank you, Captain.
(21:55:38) CSO_LCdr_Wright: XO: Ah, yes, thank you, Captain. I was getting a bit ahead of myself.
(21:56:02) MED_Ens_DrSlade: CMO: Aye Commander. My Sickbay shift is about to start, is there anything more you would like me to do with this investigation sir?
(21:56:23) CTO_Maj_Wolfe: :: finishes checking the cleaning and storage in the armory and heads to his quarters for a shower ::
(21:56:59) CSO_LCdr_Wright: :: heads for the TL to go clean up, waiting for Kate before allowing the doors to close ::
(21:57:16) CMO_Cmdr_Kymar: ::finally looks away as the last scan passes, smiling over at Tyler:: MED: That'll be all, thanks Tyler. Schedule appointments with the away team members for a week from now and send them to my office.
(21:57:27) NAV_Cdr_Harper: :: hands the helm back off and joins Wright in the TL ::
(21:57:48) MED_Ens_DrSlade: :: Nods and walks out::
(21:57:50) SCI_LtJG_TLira: :: returns to the main science station for what is likely to be a short amount of time and continues going over how to make the power transfers to the transporters work without blowing the buffers ::
(21:59:46) XO_Capt_TKirr: :: takes the next lift after Harper and Wright to her own quarters ::
(22:00:17) XO_Capt_TKirr: :: nods to T'Lira as they pass :: SCI: Lieutenant.
(22:00:32) SCI_LtJG_TLira: :: nods back :: XO: Captain.
(22:00:38) NAV_Cdr_Harper: :: sneezes at the dust cloud ::
(22:00:52) CMO_Cmdr_Kymar: ::gets back to his scans, picking out portions for more detailed analysis as he goes::
(22:00:55) ENG_LtJG_Ilaihr: ::Is surprisingly lacking in dust. Just continues to mumble about 'the light' to himself.::
(22:01:12) MED_Ens_DrSlade: :: Sends out all of the the appointment notices to the away team and submits them to the CMO office::
(22:01:38) XO_Capt_TKirr: SCI: Your success in reaching the Away Team through the cave with transporters was more than adequate.
(22:02:44) SCI_LtJG_TLira: XO: Thank you, Captain. I endeavour to perform in such a fashion in all my duties. :: silently goes over that and notes how odd it sounded. Clearly, that particular area of discussion needs work ::
(22:03:39) XO_Capt_TKirr: SCI: I would expect nothing less of you. :: pats ineffectually at her uniform :: If you'll excuse me.
(22:04:14) SCI_LtJG_TLira: :: nods briefly and returns to the console, making a personal note to work on conversational skills ::
(22:06:08) CSO_LCdr_Wright: :: slips into her own quarters and heads for the shower ::
(22:06:23) XO_Capt_TKirr: :: rides TL to quarters silently, analyzing their recent away mission...there will be meditation later ::
(22:06:44) ENG_LtJG_Ilaihr: ::Murmers some more to himself as he reviews limited data on extraplanar transcendence, and promises of it. Still feeling like: he was missing something.:
(22:06:54) NAV_Cdr_Harper: :: ducks into her quarters as well and gets out of those filthy clothes :::
(22:10:04) NAV_Cdr_Harper: :: showers and conjures up a fresh uniform ::
(22:11:21) CSO_LCdr_Wright: :: dresses quickly and heads back out to the hall ::
(22:12:06) XO_Capt_TKirr: :: retires to her quarters to shower, knowing their work has just begun ::
(22:12:32) ENG_LtJG_Ilaihr: *MED*: Doctor... what do your scans reveal about the final seconds of our experience?
(22:13:16) CTO_Maj_Wolfe: :: arrives at the Bridge and takes over the Tactical station ::
(22:14:02) NAV_Cdr_Harper: :: dresses, freshens up, and heads back out ::
(22:14:14) MED_Ens_DrSlade: *ENG* I am sorry Lieutenant all of my scans and analysis are with Dr. Kymar at the moment. I am on duty he should have the analysis!
(22:15:21) CSO_LCdr_Wright: :: steps off the TL and back onto the Bridge :: CO: Permission to assume my station, Sir?
(22:15:48) TAC_2LT_Randen: :: Heads to his quarters after being relieved and finally gets to take his shower. ::
(22:15:49) CO_VAdmBlackthorne: SEC_1LT_Syvek> *XO* Syvek to Captain T'Kirr.
(22:16:05) CO_VAdmBlackthorne: CSO: Yes, you seem significantly cleaner now.
(22:16:11) SCI_LtJG_TLira: :: moves back the aux station as soon as she sees Wright. These calculations are proving to be quite tricky, so this strategy will require quite a bit of work ::
(22:16:42) ENG_LtJG_Ilaihr: ::Grumbles.:: *MED*: I shall leave you to your work then, Doctor.
(22:16:50) XO_Capt_TKirr: :: walks over and taps her badge lying on the table :: SEC: Go ahead.
(22:17:12) CSO_LCdr_Wright: :: blushes slightly :: CO: Thank you, Sir. I do feel refreshed. I'll begin working on my analysis right away.
(22:17:22) CO_VAdmBlackthorne: SEC_1LT_Syvek> *XO* The excavation is complete, Captain. We are through into the chamber that you were trapped in.
(22:17:54) NAV_Cdr_Harper: :: arrives on the bridge as well, and assumes her station once more, and uses its Ops-like capacity to begin recording Gencodian data ::
(22:18:33) XO_Capt_TKirr: *SEC* Excellent. Please make one last scan of the area to make sure there is no more danger of collapse and return to Atlantis.
(22:18:48) CO_VAdmBlackthorne: SEC_1LT_Syvek> *SEC* Yes, Captain. Syvek out.
(22:19:28) ENG_LtJG_Ilaihr: CSO: Commander Wright... ::Speaks in his soft tone.:: May I converse with you for a moment?
(22:20:27) CSO_LCdr_Wright: :: turns to look :: ENG: Oh... of course. :: senses he wants her to come to him, so gets up and walks over to him ::

(22:21:54) ENG_LtJG_Ilaihr: ::Smiles.:: CSO: Can you describe to me the final moments of our experience, as you remember them? Sights, sounds, smells... no detail too small....
(22:22:11) NAV_Cdr_Harper: :: updates the lexicon on the language first ::

(22:26:24) XO_Capt_TKirr: :: arrives at the Bridge, steps off the TL, notes Wright and Ilaihr, then moves on towards Blackthorne ::
(22:27:07) ENG_LtJG_Ilaihr: ::Nods.:: CSO: Focus on each step as you get closer and closer...
(22:27:15) MED_Ens_DrSlade: *NAV* Sickbay to Harper
(22:27:32) ENG_LtJG_Ilaihr: CSO: Do you see the light?

(22:27:59) CSO_LCdr_Wright: :: closes her eyes and speaks softly :: ENG: ...Yes.
(22:28:47) MED_Ens_DrSlade: *NAV* Nothing emergent Commander, but if you would be willing would you come to sickbay when youre not on the helm or otherwise engaged
(22:29:08) ENG_LtJG_Ilaihr: ENG: What do you sense in that moment... can you feel anything beyond the light?
(22:29:13) NAV_Cdr_Harper: *MED* Is there something wrong, doctor?
(22:29:30) XO_Capt_TKirr: CO: Has the team from Gencodia returned?
(22:29:40) CO_VAdmBlackthorne: XO: Not yet, have you heard from them?
(22:30:09) XO_Capt_TKirr: CO: Yes, as soon as they return, the tunnel will be cleared for use.
(22:30:22) MED_Ens_DrSlade: *NAV* Nothing wrong at all Commander, just an evaluation of your brainsurgery and a question about possibly studying it
(22:30:26) ENG_LtJG_Ilaihr: <CSO>
(22:31:16) NAV_Cdr_Harper: :: skeptically :: *MED* ... alright, I can do that.
(22:31:30) CSO_LCdr_Wright: :: turned away from the room so their conversation and actions is more private :: ENG: Well... nothing pertinent. :: guitily remembers taking Kate's hand before stepping through ::
(22:31:51) MED_Ens_DrSlade: *NAV* Thank you Commander, at your convenience.

(22:33:16) ENG_LtJG_Ilaihr: CSO: Nothing at all... between stepping through and waking up?
(22:33:18) CO_VAdmBlackthorne: XO: Excellent. Get with Engineering and Science to see if their preliminary data could help interface with the computer.
(22:33:29) NAV_Cdr_Harper: *MED* Certainly, doctor. Harper out.
(22:33:49) XO_Capt_TKirr: :: nods and looks towards Science, noting that Wright isn't quite there ::
(22:34:34) CSO_LCdr_Wright: ENG: Oh, that? Well... I suppose I felt sort of a... slight lifting sensation, I guess? And then a little disoriented?

(22:39:13) NAV_Cdr_Harper: :: updating the language lexicon with several new words ::

(22:43:15) XO_Capt_TKirr: CSO: Yes, if we can interface it into a Holodeck program, that would be ideal.
(22:43:28) XO_Capt_TKirr: ENG: I do have time at the moment, Lieutenant.
