(10:03:02 PM) Percy: Hee, Deadliest Warrior is doing IRA vs. Taliban.
(10:04:49 PM) Percy: I am personally voting for the IRA.
(10:04:51 PM) VAdmBlackthorne: Hm, still missing four people.
(10:04:55 PM) VAdmBlackthorne: Though I've heard from Glenn.
(10:05:03 PM) Percy: Mike'll be on soon, but only for a little while.
(10:05:05 PM) TKirr: Only four?
(10:05:07 PM) Percy: He's sick as a dog.
(10:05:11 PM) TKirr: Aww
(10:05:29 PM) JusstinCase: Mike or Glenn?
(10:05:38 PM) Percy: Mike.
(10:05:47 PM) JusstinCase: Ah, yes, that makes more sense, in retrospect.
(10:05:49 PM) Percy: Yeah. I'm taking him out for pancakes after he's finished doing McKnight's interview.
(10:06:24 PM) Percy: So I'll be ducking out early myself.
(10:06:30 PM) VAdmBlackthorne: Gotcha.
(10:08:42 PM) ColDougMcKnight [Mibbit@dm-39306.hsd1.ma.comcast.net] entered the room.

(10:08:59 PM) ColDougMcKnight: Hey.
(10:08:59 PM) TKirr: Hey McKnight... sorry you don't feel well!
(10:09:03 PM) VAdmBlackthorne: OK then, let's get going.
(10:09:12 PM) ColDougMcKnight: Oh, you heard about that.

(10:10:22 PM) VAdmBlackthorne has changed the topic to: Tonight we continue the inquiry into the mutiny aboard the Atlantis. Statements will be taken from the remaining officers.
(10:11:01 PM) VAdmBlackthorne: I propose a somewhat abbreviated sim, with the results of the inquiry following McKNight's statement.
(10:11:11 PM) VAdmBlackthorne: If you're up to it, Mike?
(10:11:38 PM) ColDougMcKnight: Well, that's not necessary. Sure, I'll need to duck out early. But it's possible to sim without me if people want to.
(10:11:52 PM) VAdmBlackthorne: Without you and Percy we're down to 3 people so I'd like to just wrap as quickly as we can.
(10:12:01 PM) ColDougMcKnight: Fair enough.
(10:12:08 PM) VAdmBlackthorne: So what I'm asking is that since we basically only have a few statements left to take, if you'd mind going last?
(10:12:36 PM) ColDougMcKnight: If the othher statements can be kept brief, sure.
(10:12:46 PM) VAdmBlackthorne: I'm sure that can be arranged.
(10:12:50 PM) VAdmBlackthorne: ::eyes everyone::
(10:12:55 PM) VAdmBlackthorne: Questions?
(10:13:16 PM) VAdmBlackthorne: BEGIN SIM
(10:13:17 PM) VAdmBlackthorne: BEGIN SIM
(10:13:18 PM) VAdmBlackthorne: BEGIN SIM
(10:13:31 PM) AdmACZuriyev: ::bangs gavel:: These proceedings will come to order. Captain Muresh, you may begin.
(10:14:08 PM) CptMuresh: ::nods and sighs, resigning himself to his PADD:: Would Commander Harper please step up.
(10:14:27 PM) CdrHarper: ::gets up and takes the stand::
(10:14:41 PM) Rubix: ::Crawls out of Percy's pocket and sits on McKnight's shoulder, watching the judges and Harper with a "Whirrr?"::
(10:14:47 PM) CptMuresh: Please relate your testimony for the record, Commander.
(10:14:52 PM) CdrHarper: Well..
(10:15:20 PM) CdrHarper: When the mutiny was apparent I was in the assault bay inspecting the Mustangs.
(10:15:36 PM) ColDougMcKnight: ::With a half smile, he responds softly:: Well, who's this, then?
(10:15:39 PM) CdrHarper: I hid in my fighter for some time, keeping her powered up and ready to fly should I be able to.
(10:16:18 PM) CdrHarper: When the party the Admiral was leading burst into the assault bay being chased by mutineers, I turned my fighter on them and fired my phasers.
(10:16:37 PM) CdrHarper: The mutineers were killed. ::smug::
(10:16:38 PM) Percy: ::Looks at Rubix, then sighs:: Sorry, she was SUPPOSED to stay in my pocket. She's...uh...well, she's Cubit's sister. I call her Rubix.
(10:17:04 PM) CptMuresh: ::nods::
(10:17:25 PM) CptMuresh: And what of Sankoh?
(10:17:28 PM) CdrHarper: I then joined up with their party and we went to sickbay. There we planned the escapade that had me piloting a shuttle into the bridge.
(10:17:46 PM) CdrHarper: Sankoh was not in that party. He was on the bridge by that time.
(10:17:46 PM) ColDougMcKnight: Sure. I imagine a sister of Cubit WOULD stay where you told her.
(10:18:29 PM) Percy: ::She narrows her eyes at McKnight with a "Grr" look::
(10:18:30 PM) CdrHarper: I then piloted one of the shuttles into the bridge, with Commander Busard beaming me out at the last moment.
(10:19:39 PM) CptMuresh: All right. ::nods, as if in agreement and shuffles the PADDs on his desk:: That's all we need from you. ::motions for Harper to step down:: Thank you.
(10:19:47 PM) CdrHarper: ::does so::
(10:19:58 PM) VAdmBlackthorne: ::nods to Harper, proud of his CAG::
(10:20:02 PM) CptMuresh: Commander T'Kirr? ::looks up::
(10:20:13 PM) TKirr: ::stands and makes her way to the Seat::
(10:20:23 PM) ColDougMcKnight: ::McKnight just chuckles, plants a quick kiss on Percy's forehead, and returns his attention to the proceedings.::
(10:20:56 PM) CptMuresh: Please share your account during the incident, Commander.
(10:21:02 PM) Percy: ::Blushes slightly, then smiles and returns her gaze to the judges and T'Kirr::
(10:21:47 PM) Rubix: ::Rocks back and forth::
(10:21:59 PM) TKirr: ::nods:: I was in the Flag Office with Admiral Blackthorne. I heard Lieutenant Commander Sankoh issue plan Alpha Omega over the comm, a command I am unfamiliar with.
(10:22:07 PM) VAdmBlackthorne: ::watches T'Kirr::
(10:22:29 PM) TKirr: Before long, he announced over the comm that he was seizing control under Admiral Harris' orders.
(10:22:54 PM) CptMuresh: Yes, Commander, we have the transcripts. ::shuffles PADDs:: Please continue.
(10:23:06 PM) VAdmBlackthorne: ::smirks::
(10:23:38 PM) TKirr: Admiral Blackthorne and I were taken prisoner and escorted to the brig with Lieutenant Case, where we remained until we were taken to Shuttlebay One.
(10:24:53 PM) TKirr: Sankoh and his people arrived, but they weren't left alone long before there was weapons fire, which I'm to believe was from Colonel McKnight and his men. Sankoh ran for cover, and after some confusion, I saw him coming toward me too late to avoid the back of his rifle.
(10:25:03 PM) TKirr: I'm afraid I can't recall anything clearly after that.
(10:25:17 PM) CptMuresh: ::nods:: That's fine, Commander. Anything else?
(10:25:20 PM) VAdmBlackthorne: ::would like to have punched him for that one::
(10:25:58 PM) TKirr: ::pauses:: No, unless you require more detail as to the direction of weapons fire and who fired when.
(10:26:17 PM) CptMuresh: ::smiles:: No, that's quite all right, the records are in order. You may step down.
(10:26:32 PM) TKirr: :: stands and returns to Blackthorne's side ::
(10:26:55 PM) VAdmBlackthorne: ::pats her knee as she sits::
(10:27:17 PM) CptMuresh: :: blinks at PADD :: Admiral Blackthorne. :: looks directly at him expectantly ::
(10:27:42 PM) VAdmBlackthorne: Better the witness stand than facing a firing squad. ::smirks and takes the stand::
(10:28:14 PM) CptMuresh: Admiral. :: glances at Zuriyev :: Please, go ahead.
(10:29:23 PM) VAdmBlackthorne: After being escorted off the bridge and to the shuttlebay, we faced said firing squad until Admiral Harris attempted to kill everyone in the shuttlebay by opening the outer doors.
(10:30:36 PM) VAdmBlackthorne: The doors actually began to open, and fortunately only the firing squad was sucked out into space, when Colonel McKnight was able to shut the door.
(10:31:02 PM) VAdmBlackthorne: At that point was the firefight from Sankoh's men, and the trek up through the turbolift shafts to sickbay.
(10:31:37 PM) TKirr: :: listens and watches in interest to the parts she missed ::
(10:31:41 PM) VAdmBlackthorne: I decided that piloting the shuttle into the bridge was our only possible way to strike at the bridge, considering Harris's four-star flag lockout.
(10:32:32 PM) VAdmBlackthorne: Commander Harper volunteered to make the flight, we were knocked violently out of warp, sustaining major damage, but ultimately successful in retaking the ship before they delivered it to the Orion.
(10:34:48 PM) CptMuresh: :: frowns :: Mm, yes. And did you at any time offer Sankoh an opportunity to stand down before you collided a shuttle into the Bridge?
(10:35:20 PM) VAdmBlackthorne: I didn't have comm access.
(10:35:29 PM) VAdmBlackthorne: ::wouldn't have offered anyway::
(10:35:49 PM) CptMuresh: And you felt there was no other way to communicate with him?
(10:36:14 PM) VAdmBlackthorne: I doubt his marines would have let me in had I went and knocked on the door.
(10:36:43 PM) CptMuresh: :: frowns again, turns to Zuriyev and shares a nod :: Thank you, Admiral Blackthorne. :: gestures for him to stand ::
(10:37:20 PM) VAdmBlackthorne: ::sits down next to T'Kirr, thinking about how almost being sucked into space makes him a lot less gracious::
(10:37:22 PM) CptMuresh: Thank you all for your patience in this matter. I have one other statement to take. Colonel McKnight, if you would.
(10:37:40 PM) TKirr: :: finds Ian's hand and squeezes it ::
(10:38:09 PM) ColDougMcKnight: ::Nodding briskly, he approaches the bench and offers a crisp salute:: Colonel McKnight, reporting as ordered.
(10:38:28 PM) VAdmBlackthorne: ::squeezes T'Kirr's hand back and looks proudly at the Colonel::
(10:39:03 PM) CptMuresh: :: nods respectfully :: Please, Colonel. Proceed.
(10:39:31 PM) ColDougMcKnight: ::Nodding, he takes his seat:: At the beginning, I presume?
(10:39:48 PM) CptMuresh: :: nods ::
(10:39:57 PM) Rubix: ::Hops off his shoulder before he leaves his seat so as not to interrupt things, of course.::
(10:41:36 PM) ColDougMcKnight: Very well. At the time the mutiny began, I was on duty, but in holodeck 4 with a dozen of my marines. Training simulation Alpha Nine, to be precise, which reproduces a rocky valley, offering a lot of cover. The idea was to improve rapid mid-range target acquisition.
(10:42:16 PM) AdmACZuriyev: :: nods, impressed ::
(10:42:29 PM) CptMuresh: :: nods, following ::
(10:43:36 PM) ColDougMcKnight: Anyway, once we heard Sankoh's announcement, my first response was of course to contact security. However, by that time, security was already under attack. As I later discovered, the mutineers had commenced their assault by utilizing their control of the transporter system to beam a bundle of stun grenades directly into the standby room for our two
(10:44:06 PM) ColDougMcKnight: rapid response teams. From there, our own rapid response capability was crippled, and they were free to spread out. The whole thing lasted maybe two minutes.
(10:44:53 PM) ColDougMcKnight: What I knew right then was that my comm link with Mr. O'Grady was cut off, and could not be restored. I deduced from this that they had control of the computers as well, and we all ditched our comm badges.
(10:45:22 PM) TKirr: :: listens, interested ::
(10:46:18 PM) ColDougMcKnight: So, we were still free. Unfortunately, given the nature of the training simulation, only a handful of us were carrying live ammunition, and the mutineers had control of the armory. So we made our way to weapons supply locker 3-C on deck 12.
(10:46:51 PM) VAdmBlackthorne: :: glad to hear this part, considering he was a prisoner while all of this was going on ::
(10:47:57 PM) ColDougMcKnight: Once there, we managed to subdue the pair of mutineers, and after a fruitless interrogation of Mr. Simmons, I killed him before ordering the rest of my team to similarly shoot to kill.
(10:49:23 PM) VAdmBlackthorne: :: doesn't even question McKnight's judgement on that matter ::
(10:49:56 PM) CptMuresh: And what was your reasoning for this order?
(10:51:52 PM) ColDougMcKnight: ::Doesn't bat an eyelash:: At that time, we had no way of knowing the numbers and strength of the mutineers. We DID, however, know that we were outnumbered and being hunted by an enemy of superior strength. We didn't have access to the brig, and we couldn't afford to fight the same mutineers repeatedly. Thus, we had no choice but to employ lethal force.
(10:52:49 PM) CptMuresh: :: nods :: Noted. Please go on.
(10:52:58 PM) AdmACZuriyev: :: would have done the same thing ::
(10:53:15 PM) Percy: ::Watches McKnight with an assuring gaze::
(10:53:57 PM) Rubix: ::Rolls around on McKnight's chair::
(10:54:36 PM) TKirr: ( lol visualizing that )
(10:54:37 PM) ColDougMcKnight: Alright. Shortly thereafter, we received Harris' ship-wide ultimatum that myself and my men were to surrender ourselves, or those of the command staff they had in their captivity would be executed via explosive decompression. So, I double timed it to the shuttlebay control booth, and managed to secure it with a half dozen of my men.
(10:55:26 PM) CptMuresh: :: suppresses a grin ::
(10:55:29 PM) ColDougMcKnight: We knew this was an obvious trap, but fortunately by that time we had met up with Syvek's smaller force, giving us the necessary numbers to assault the shuttlebay with a pincer movement.
(10:55:54 PM) VAdmBlackthorne: :: quite thankful for that, otherwise he'd be space debris ::
(10:56:27 PM) ColDougMcKnight: So, while Sankoh's men were occupied trading weapons fire with those of us in the control room, Syvek's men came in from behind. It worked almost perfectly. The mutineer force was destroyed, with only Commander Sankoh escaping.
(10:56:33 PM) TKirr: :: watches McKnight proudly ::
(10:57:12 PM) ColDougMcKnight: And that, I will point out, owed once more to his access to the transporters.
(10:57:42 PM) CptMuresh: Can you elaborate?
(10:58:28 PM) ColDougMcKnight: Well, he knew his situation was hopeless. So he managed to activate a site to site transport at the last possible moment. Presumably, he then made his way back to the bridge.
(10:58:54 PM) Rubix: (Wooo! The IRA won!!)
(10:59:03 PM) Rubix: (Erin Go Bragh!)
(10:59:24 PM) CptMuresh: All right.
(10:59:27 PM) Rubix: (Y'know, if I was a terrorist. And all)
(10:59:41 PM) ColDougMcKnight: (Yay!)
(11:00:24 PM) ColDougMcKnight: Is that sufficient. My knowledge regarding Commander Sankoh ends there, up until the shuttle crash I mean.
(11:01:30 PM) CptMuresh: :: purses his lips :: That's fine. :: actually beams at McKnight :: Thank you, Colonel, very much.
(11:01:43 PM) VAdmBlackthorne: ::watches Rubix out of the corner of his eye::
(11:01:51 PM) ColDougMcKnight: Not a problem, Captain.
(11:02:09 PM) CptMuresh: :: gestures for him to return ::
(11:02:24 PM) Rubix: ::Has gotten herself stuck on her back, and squirms like a tortoise knocked over onto its shell::
(11:02:27 PM) ColDougMcKnight: ::As instructed, gets up and offers a second quick salute before returning to his chair.::
(11:02:32 PM) CptMuresh: :: shuffles PADDs again, glancing at Zuriyev :: That's all I have, Admiral.
(11:02:32 PM) Percy: ::chuckles slightly::
(11:02:41 PM) CptMuresh: :: taps a few notes ::
(11:02:44 PM) AdmACZuriyev: Have you made a decision, or do you need time to deliberate?
(11:03:04 PM) VAdmBlackthorne: ::looks to Zuriyev from the hapless Rubix::
(11:03:07 PM) CptMuresh: I've made a decision. :: clearly decided ::
(11:03:21 PM) AdmACZuriyev: Very well. The assembled officers of the USS Atlantis will now rise.
(11:03:34 PM) VAdmBlackthorne: ::stands up and comes to attention::
(11:03:36 PM) ColDougMcKnight: ::AA::
(11:03:37 PM) TKirr: :: stands steadily to her feet ::
(11:03:43 PM) Percy: ::AA::
(11:03:50 PM) CdrHarper: ::stands and comes to::
(11:04:14 PM) Rubix: ::Finally rolls onto her feet and salutes with a "Whirr!"::
(11:04:30 PM) CptMuresh: :: looks out over everyone :: Thank you all for your participation. You'll understand these official matters are required for instances as ... incriminating as this.
(11:04:34 PM) JusstinCase: ::AA::
(11:05:05 PM) CharitySuite [Mibbit@dm-9290.hsd1.ny.comcast.net] entered the room.
(11:05:13 PM) VAdmBlackthorne: (Hi Charity!)
(11:05:23 PM) ColDougMcKnight: (Hey, evening!)
(11:05:28 PM) CptMuresh: After deliberation during the recess and agreement with the following testimonies, the Office of the Judge Advocate General has concluded officers and crew of the USS Atlantis are hereby exempt from any prosecution in the actions taken in defense of their integrity.
(11:05:47 PM) CptMuresh: :: said with finality ::
(11:05:49 PM) VAdmBlackthorne: :: smiles, just a little bit, since he's still at attention ::
(11:05:52 PM) CharitySuite: <Sorry, we have a houseguest :-) >
(11:06:01 PM) ColDougMcKnight: ::McKnight frins, but silently::
(11:06:08 PM) ColDougMcKnight: (grins)
(11:06:15 PM) AdmACZuriyev: Very well, the JAG Office has made its ruling.
(11:06:28 PM) AdmACZuriyev: These proceedings are concluded. Dismissed!
(11:06:32 PM) JusstinCase: ::rolls his eyes, as if to say, "Duh!"::
(11:06:57 PM) VAdmBlackthorne: :: turns to the assembled members of his crew :: Good work, everyone.
(11:07:10 PM) ColDougMcKnight: ::McKnight turns on his heel and heads toward the exit. He wants to check out these holosuites he's heard such glowing praise of.::
(11:07:17 PM) CharitySuite: ::relieved::
(11:07:20 PM) VAdmBlackthorne: Commander, get word to the entire crew that shore leave is granted until Atlantis's repairs are completed.
(11:07:26 PM) ColDougMcKnight: ::But he offers Blackthorne a nod in reply first.::
(11:07:32 PM) Rubix: ::Beeps happily, then tugs on Percy's pantleg and gestures "Up!"::
(11:07:34 PM) TKirr: :: nods, clearly pleased ::
(11:07:41 PM) VAdmBlackthorne: PAUSE SIM
(11:07:43 PM) VAdmBlackthorne: PAUSE SIM
(11:07:45 PM) VAdmBlackthorne: PAUSE SIM
(11:07:48 PM) CptMuresh left the room (quit: Exit: http://www.mibbit.com ajax IRC Client).
(11:07:48 PM) Percy: ::Picks Rubix up and follows after-
(11:07:50 PM) Percy: Right.
(11:07:52 PM) JusstinCase: ::pauses::
(11:07:53 PM) Percy: ::pause::
(11:07:57 PM) TKirr: :: pauses ::
(11:08:02 PM) ColDougMcKnight: ::pauses::
(11:08:13 PM) VAdmBlackthorne: And that's that!
(11:08:17 PM) CharitySuite: :: paused::
(11:08:19 PM) TKirr: Paced quickly enough, I hope?
(11:08:22 PM) ColDougMcKnight: Sweet! Night, folks.
(11:08:31 PM) TKirr: Night, feel better, enjoy your pancakes!
(11:08:31 PM) VAdmBlackthorne: Next week we should be able to move back into our ship.
(11:08:31 PM) ColDougMcKnight: Yeah. it was okay. Thanks.
(11:08:36 PM) VAdmBlackthorne: Feel better, Mike.
(11:08:38 PM) Percy: G'night guys!
(11:08:47 PM) ColDougMcKnight: I'll try. Have a good one, all!
(11:08:48 PM) ColDougMcKnight left the room (quit: Exit: http://www.mibbit.com ajax IRC Client).
(11:08:53 PM) Percy left the room (quit: Exit: http://www.mibbit.com ajax IRC Client).
(11:08:56 PM) Rubix left the room (quit: Exit: http://www.mibbit.com ajax IRC Client).
(11:09:03 PM) AdmACZuriyev left the room (quit: Exit: http://www.mibbit.com ajax IRC Client).
(11:09:16 PM) TKirr: Will it have a new-Bridge smell, or are they using refurbished parts?
(11:09:21 PM) VAdmBlackthorne: Well at least you got to see how it ended, Charity. :)
(11:09:30 PM) VAdmBlackthorne: You know, there should be a new bridge smell.
(11:10:21 PM) TKirr: But I want the old-Bridge smell. =/
(11:10:31 PM) CharitySuite: Wasn't it kind of charred?
(11:10:35 PM) VAdmBlackthorne has changed the topic to: Cubit's crown of cutest robot has been taken by Rubix!
(11:10:39 PM) TKirr: Older than that.
(11:11:11 PM) VAdmBlackthorne: When Shelev was around, the bridge smelled slightly of misfortune.
(11:12:29 PM) TKirr: And Andorian Ale.
(11:12:46 PM) VAdmBlackthorne: He's also sitting right here and came up with that.
(11:15:05 PM) TKirr: Shelev, you're a drunkard.
(11:15:30 PM) TKirr: I mean, making the Bridge smell like that.
(11:15:36 PM) TKirr: Who else could it have been?
(11:15:59 PM) VAdmBlackthorne: Good point.
(11:16:20 PM) CharitySuite: For grins and giggles, I recommend "The T-Shirt Game" for an ice breaker. :-)
(11:16:39 PM) VAdmBlackthorne: What's that one?
(11:16:40 PM) CharitySuite: If you like Apples to Apples, you will love that.
(11:16:51 PM) VAdmBlackthorne: Apples to Apples is awesome.
(11:17:28 PM) CharitySuite: The "It" person gets a T-shirt card with a humorous picture on it, and you submit captions
(11:17:58 PM) CharitySuite: Not wild about the scoring method, but that's been fixed. ;-)
(11:18:19 PM) VAdmBlackthorne: Well then we'll just have to try it.
(11:18:29 PM) CdrHarper left the room.
(11:19:08 PM) CharitySuite: So, there would be a bizarre-looking cowboy on a mechanical bull, and the winning caption was "Oh darn, I forgot my ballet shoes"
(11:19:21 PM) TKirr: Hah that sounds neat. Yeah that's a good get-to-know-you game, but unfortunately the people I've played it with haven't found favorable places in my memory.
(11:20:28 PM) VAdmBlackthorne: That does sound fun.
