Kiley Airell: *whispers* you're a little
late
VAdm Blackthorne: ::laughs::
LtAaron Markus: Shhh.
ElRiov trIdrys has joined this chat.
JackLeirone: Notice how things got silent when Idrys entered
the room?
ElRiov trIdrys: Evening Admiral, Doug, Jack, Kiley, Aaron
LtAaron Markus: ::nods::
ElRiov trIdrys: oh yeah blame it on the Doc. You all are getting
your exams when we get back on Atlantis ya know.
ElRiov trIdrys: :::chuckles, rubs hands:::
JackLeirone: You can exam my ass.
JackLeirone: Oh wait you do that all the time. Never mind.
ElRiov trIdrys: that's probably gonna be our plot arc for Hallowe'n
...
VAdm Blackthorne: ::tosses Irdys the
rubber gloves::
Lt TKirr has joined this chat.
Kiley Airell: Hey McKnight, Idrys
Kiley Airell: Hey TKirr
JackLeirone: JK, dog.
ElRiov trIdrys: ::snaps the gloves on::: Danke mein Kapitan
ElRiov trIdrys: Evening T'Kirr
VAdm Blackthorne: Bitte herr doktor.
Lt TKirr: Good evening.
JackLeirone: Ah! Sprechen Sie Deutsch?
CaptDougMcKnight: McKnight's a trained medic. He'll pass himself.
VAdm Blackthorne: Nein, ich sprechen
sie Irish!
ElRiov trIdrys: Jawohl, meine name ist Koenig.
7:35 PM
JackLeirone: Wunderbar. Ich bin Liesse Jack. Ich freue mich,
Sie zu treffen.
LtAaron Markus: Hola, me llamo es Alonzo.
JackLeirone: Ich verstehe nicht. Was sagen sie, Markus?
Lt TKirr: I supposedly knew German pretty well
in 1st grade when we moved there for a year... don't remember any now =/
CaptDougMcKnight: Sigh...I'm gonna have to beat you all like a
Mandalorian step child.
LtAaron Markus: What?!?!
JackLeirone: Hey. I AM a Mandalorian stepchild. I resent
that.
ElRiov trIdrys: And I highly resemble that
LtAaron Markus: You mean "resemble"?
ElRiov trIdrys: HA!
CaptDougMcKnight: Sorry, I just spent a good portion of my
evening killing Mandalorians.
LtAaron Markus:
VAdm Blackthorne: Hey, what a
coincidence, I did too.
JackLeirone: Oh great.
CaptDougMcKnight: They're annoyingly hard to kill, but they all
have cool stuff when you loot their corpses.
JackLeirone: I spent a good portion of my evening hanging
out with people.
CaptDougMcKnight: One had 2 light sabers! I won't have to give
Bastila back her light staff after all!
CaptDougMcKnight: I wonder how much I can sell one of those
suckers for.
JackLeirone: If I wanted abuse, I'd go to Meridian.
VAdm Blackthorne: About 300 credits
7:40 PM
CaptDougMcKnight: Oh...well, at least I took the 1,000 credits
for whacking him.
CaptDougMcKnight: I'll work on light side points later.
VAdm Blackthorne: Well, that looks
like everyone for tonight, so let's get started.
VAdm Blackthorne: Attention!

VAdm Blackthorne: Tonight, after
almost giving Drake a heart attack with my testing of our warp engines, we're
en route to a large biomass that came up on the long range sensors.
VAdm Blackthorne: Questions?
JackLeirone: ::raises hand::
VAdm Blackthorne: Jack?
JackLeirone: Do we know anything about the biomass?
VAdm Blackthorne: Nope.
Lt TKirr: Just that it's huge
JackLeirone: Oh?
Lt TKirr: I believe I quoted 7K kilometers
diameter
ElRiov trIdrys: size of an asteroid or something like that
JackLeirone: Oh that's nothin.
CaptDougMcKnight: That's a lot of meters.
VAdm Blackthorne: Anyway, if that's
all the questions...
Lt TKirr: 7K, as in seven thousand O.o

VAdm Blackthorne: Time until we reach

CaptDougMcKnight: ::Steps off the turbolift, and onto the bridge,
where he promptly finds a railing to lean on:: Permission to enjoy the view up
here, Admiral?
VAdm Blackthorne: ::nods:: Go ahead.
LtAaron Markus: 15 minutes.
JackLeirone: ::misses Nicole...where the hell is she?::
ElRiov trIdrys: +Arenn+ Keep me apprised of matters there and let
me know if there are any changes in the patient's condition.
JackLeirone: ::realizes how painful it is when someone
disappears with no word::
ElRiov trIdrys: Arenn > +Idrys+ Yes Doctor.
Lt TKirr: ::looks over her console as it beeps::
ElRiov trIdrys: Arenn > ::sighs, turning to Emdee:: Don't you
just wish you had him?
JackLeirone: ::to all surrounding NPC redshits..er shirts

Lt TKirr: I am getting more detailed scans at
this range, Admiral.
VAdm Blackthorne: I'm all ears.
CaptDougMcKnight: (Ha ha, gotta love typos, eh Jack?)
ElRiov trIdrys: Emdee > ::nods:: I know. The only ones worth
having are already taken and the rest ... ::shrugs::
VAdm Blackthorne: (Especially when
they're intentional)
ElRiov trIdrys: Arenn > Yeah. Men.
CaptDougMcKnight: (Absolutely.)
ElRiov trIdrys: :::enters TL::: Bridge. ::TL moves::
JackLeirone: Keep everything steady and keep your eyes on
the warp core. You know what happens when Starships go near anomalous blobs.
Come on, people, get to it.
Lt TKirr: It seems to be mostly fluidic in
nature. Very conductive, it seems.
JackLeirone: When Drake comes back, I don't want him biting
my head off.
VAdm Blackthorne: Any signs of
intelligence?
ElRiov trIdrys: ::TL doors open, steps out onto Bridge::
7:50 PM
Lt TKirr: None so far.
JackLeirone: ::stands over the console, readying himself::
How's that warp core?
CaptDougMcKnight: How do you go about looking for signs of
intelligence from a giant blob?
JackLeirone: Norman Philip Clemens> All copasetic, sir.
Coolant levels, I/O, everything's stable.
VAdm Blackthorne: Finding something
that appears to function as a brain.
CaptDougMcKnight: Bearing in mind, I am, in fact, a layman.
VAdm Blackthorne: That's only one way
to do it.
7:55 PM
JackLeirone: ::heads out to the bridge:: I'm out to the
bridge. You! Watch over.
JackLeirone: Nell Paula Christopher> Yes, sir.
ElRiov trIdrys: ::turns to T'Kirr:: What do you have?
Lt TKirr: ::checks new sweep:: There appears to
be a concentrated area of conductive activity. A web of collagenous material
near the center of the fluidic mass.
VAdm Blackthorne: A nervous system?
Lt TKirr: It could indicate such.
ElRiov trIdrys: ::peers at console::
Lt TKirr: I'm picking up traces of sodium in
that area.
JackLeirone: ::arrives on the bridge, heads to Engineering
station::
CaptDougMcKnight: Guess that rules out space amoeba then.
Lt TKirr: Liquid phosphate. Magnesium.
VAdm Blackthorne: Markus, take us out
of warp.
LtAaron Markus: Aye, sir. ::drops from warp::
VAdm Blackthorne: On screen.
Kiley Airell: ((sorry y'all. I'm falling
asleep. I think I'm going to go and actually get some sleep))
ElRiov trIdrys: :::turns:::
LtAaron Markus: ::puts on screen::
CaptDougMcKnight: (Night Kiley.)
ElRiov trIdrys: ( Laters Kiley )

VAdm Blackthorne: ( Night! )
LtAaron Markus: <<Night Kiley>>
JackLeirone: ::watches intently::
Kiley Airell: ((nigth all))
Kiley Airell has left this chat.
VAdm Blackthorne: ACTION> A large
blue amorphous mass appears on the screen, about 1/4 the size of Earth.
VAdm Blackthorne: ( 1/6, I meant )
LtAaron Markus: <<It's still big>>
CaptDougMcKnight: ::Just stares for a second:: Huh,
that's...that's pretty big.
VAdm Blackthorne: ::stands and looks
at the screen::
Lt TKirr: It seems to be emitting a faint
gravitational field.
CaptDougMcKnight: ::Turns to T'Kirr:: Propulsion?
VAdm Blackthorne: No doubt. Kepler
wouldn't have it any other way.
JackLeirone: ((I still don't think it's that big.
honestly.I'm not impressed))
LtAaron Markus: <<LOL>>
Lt TKirr: I would surmise it is due to its size
alone.
VAdm Blackthorne: Can you get a
reading on density?
LtAaron Markus: ::keeps the ship at a reasonable distance from
the gravitational field::

JackLeirone: ((God I could crap on command, I'm so fulla
shit))
LtJGNicoleWeis: ((ew))
ElRiov trIdrys: (( TMI TMI ))
Lt TKirr: An average of twenty two kilograms per
cubic meter.
JackLeirone: ((it was an expression))
Lt TKirr: <<Thanks, brain fart>>
LtJGNicoleWeis: ::leaves sickbay and heads up
to the bridge where idrys is::
VAdm Blackthorne: Well, that would
explain the gravity.
8:10 PM
CptKetchum has left this chat.
JackLeirone: Nick Preston Czinsky> +Leirone+ Sir, the
warp core's doin' somethin' weird.
LtAaron Markus: ::Is confused about the gravity and density
stuff, just knows the thing is bigger than this ship::
JackLeirone: +Czinsky+ Would you mind being more specific?
Lt TKirr: <<I could brush up myself Markus
=P>>
JackLeirone: Czinsky> +Leirone+ There's some weird
gravitational thing...
JackLeirone: +Czinsky+ Stop using the word "weird"
and act professional, would you?
VAdm Blackthorne: Is it moving at
all, Markus?
Lt TKirr: ::looks up from console to watch thing
filling viewer::
LtJGNicoleWeis: ::walks onto the bridge and
moves over next to idrys::
LtAaron Markus: ::checks:: It's position hasn't changed any,
but there is some kind of movement in it.
JackLeirone: Czinsky> +Leirone+ An unknown source of
gravity is causing an matter-antimatter malfunction. The combustion won't occur
with this gravity. I don't know where it's coming from.
JackLeirone: +Czinsky+ Thank you, Czinsky. Try as best you
can to get it fixed. Leirone out.
JackLeirone: ::to Blackthorne:: Sir, we have a problem in
engineering.
VAdm Blackthorne: What is it?
ElRiov trIdrys: ::q:: Odd thing isn't it ... low density and
gravity field ... no known source of intelligence ... I wonder how long it'll
be before we send out a probe or something like that. So far it's done nothing.
8:15 PM
JackLeirone: This weird grav...::corrects himself:: An
unknown source of gravity has disabled the matter-antimatter combustion. We're
unable to go into warp.
VAdm Blackthorne: That's the most
absurd thing I've ever heard.
Lt TKirr: ::furrows brow::
ElRiov trIdrys: ::sighs:: ... famous last words ...
LtJGNicoleWeis: :::looks at the thing everyone
else is looking at::
VAdm Blackthorne: The gravity it
exhibits is on par with a moon of its size. Something with that mass will have
a bit of gravity to it.
VAdm Blackthorne: Go double check
your staff and ensure it's not a sensor malfunction.
JackLeirone: Sir. ::departs, sees Nicole:: Nicole! Where
have you been?
JackLeirone: ::lightly grabs her hand as a slight sign of
affection::
LtJGNicoleWeis: ::smiles:: hey jack! i just
got up here
VAdm Blackthorne: ::sits back down::
Lt TKirr: <<Isn't Nicole on the
Bridge?>>
JackLeirone: ::looks at her shyly, says quietly:: It's good
to see you. But I gotta go. ::gives her hand a slight squeeze:: See ya.
JackLeirone: ::departs::
VAdm Blackthorne: What's the makeup
of the majority of the blue liquid?
LtJGNicoleWeis: bye jack, come by once your
off
LtJGNicoleWeis: ((yup nicole is on the bridge
))
JackLeirone: ::to TL:: Engineering.
JackLeirone: ::steps of TL and into engineering:: Czinsky,
report. Show me what the hell is going on.
JackLeirone: Czinsky> Over here, Jack.
LtJGNicoleWeis: ::looks around the bridge,
amazed at what it looks like::
8:20 PM
Lt TKirr: It appears to be highly concentrated
with oxygen.
JackLeirone: ::thinks...right...I don't outrank anybody
here:: Show me.
JackLeirone: Czinsky> ::points:: Look. It's the weirdest
thing I've ever seen.
VAdm Blackthorne: Interesting.
JackLeirone: ::disregards the word, appalled at the sight::
Damn it. How can that be? We have enough protection around that damn chamber to
repel a full-on Cardassian attack.
VAdm Blackthorne: With that kind of
gravity and density, if we launched a probe... it would float on the surface, I
believe.
JackLeirone: Czinsky> How could something affect only the
m-am chamber and nothing else on the ship?
Lt TKirr: More than likely.
JackLeirone: Right. You'd think the matter-antimatter
chamber was.........targetted.....
VAdm Blackthorne: Do you see any
reason that we should not?
JackLeirone: +Blackthorne+ Admiral, it is not a sensor
malfunction; the chamber is definitely disabled.
Lt TKirr: No. The electrical activity is deep
within the mass and does not reach the surface.
LtAaron Markus: Other than the fact that the thing, if
intelligent, might see it as aggresive and attack...
VAdm Blackthorne: +Leirone+ I don't
buy it. Double check, and if it's true, start it again. There's no way in hell
an object smaller than Earth' moon could affect our warp core with its gravity.
8:25 PM
JackLeirone: +Blackthorne+ Sir, I am double-checking. I
don't buy it either and I'm staring right at it.
VAdm Blackthorne: +Leirone+ Fix it.
Now. Blackthorne out.
CaptDougMcKnight: ::Frowns and walks over to tactical, relieving
the officer on duty there:: I'll start running scans for anything else that
could conceivably be causing this.
VAdm Blackthorne: I wouldn't put it
past the systems of this ship, honestly. Gravity of small moons doesn't cause
warp cores to stop working.
LtJGNicoleWeis: ::standing watching all of
this::
CaptDougMcKnight: I wasn't aware any gravity did that without
tearing the ship apart first, sir.
JackLeirone: ::looks at Czinsky with worry...thinks,
"What a tight-ass.":: All right, folks. You heard the Admiral.
Christiensen, Chalk, and Cranston.
VAdm Blackthorne: It doesn't.
Something else is broken.
JackLeirone: All of you get to the surrounding consoles and
standby for manual repairs.
VAdm Blackthorne: T'Kirr, launch a
class III probe into a decaying orbit and try to splash land it.
CaptDougMcKnight: ::Starts scanning for any subspace anomalies,
spatial distortions, or any other source of outside interference::
JackLeirone: Clive and Czansky, you're with me. Run tests.
Test after test.
Lt TKirr: ::nods, setting the probe up
remotely::
JackLeirone: NPCs> ::do as they're told::
8:30 PM
Lt TKirr: ::calculates appropriate vector and
launches probe::
JackLeirone: ::runs tests::
JackLeirone: Czinsky> Nothing, sir. Not working.
JackLeirone: I can see, Czinsky.
VAdm Blackthorne: ::watches the
screen::
VAdm Blackthorne: ::hopes that it
doesn't decide that they're lunch::
ElRiov trIdrys: :::thinks "Now comes the fun part" :::
JackLeirone: Cranston, what are you getting?
CaptDougMcKnight: ::Has a tractor beam on standby in case it
does::
VAdm Blackthorne: Doctor Idrys, see
if you can get any sort of bio data on it. Anything you can establish a
baseline with.
JackLeirone: Cranston> Nothing, Jack. The emitters are
fully aligned, everything should be working...but it's not.
ElRiov trIdrys: Aye Sir. ::heads to medical console, begins
scanning::
JackLeirone: ::sighs and looks at Czinsky intensely:: Manual
repair. Open 'er up. So to speak.
JackLeirone: Czinsky> Sir, that's a little unorthodox.
JackLeirone: :;losing it a little:: We're doing as the
Admiral said. We're fixing it. Aren't we?
JackLeirone: ::goes over to the core, climbs a ladder, looks
at Czinsky:: Well? Are you coming?
8:35 PM
JackLeirone: Czinsky> Jack what are you trying to do?
Kill yourself? You can't open up the m-am chamber! Who the fuck are you trying
to impress?
JackLeirone: ::points menacingly:: I don't need to impress
anybody. ::climbs down::
VAdm Blackthorne: The probe should
have landed by now.
Lt TKirr: It is about to land now, Admiral.
JackLeirone: ::climbs down through a jeffries tube to the
m-am chamber:: Okay. Just like pulling a tooth.
JackLeirone: ::pulls up console, taps on it::
Lt TKirr: ::checks incoming probe readings::
VAdm Blackthorne: ( I can't IM you,
Jack )
JackLeirone: (Hold on...)
Jack Leirone: (okay)
Lt TKirr: The probe is picking up chemical
reactions of boron and... an unknown element.
VAdm Blackthorne: Unknown element?
Fascinating.
CaptDougMcKnight: ::Looks up:: How's that possible?
ElRiov trIdrys: Scanning for bio data.
Lt TKirr: ::patches info through to Idrys'
console::
